HELP! Slippage? Food Stuck? What is wrong?
My History: Banded 3/08 Very Sensitive to fills! I have had a rough time with fills. I swell very easily and have numerous fills taken out. My dr. filled me very slowly and I have had my last fill 8/09. It has lasted and I am doing very well. I also take it very easy and eat only what I should and am very careful because I don't want to lose my fill. Since August I have lost the majority of my weight. Last few days... For two days I have suddenly felt very tight to the point of not being able to keep liquids down! sipping Water and it is coming up. I have a lot of discomfort. I am worried that my band has slipped but do not have any idea how that could have happened! Seeing my dr. first thing monday am but was hoping for some insight to make it through this weekend.

Dont feel "right"
I would stop eating solids and move to liquids for at least a day. It's the weekend and you can't do anything anyway. Monday if there is still discomfort call your dr. I switch to smoothies and pureed Soups. Feel better

HELP! Sudden tightness
I was banded March 2008 and haven't had a fill since last august. I have a small fill because I seem to be very sensitive. The smallest amount and I swell and can't keep liquids down which of course means out goes the fill! I have slowly build up my fill and have been doing very well since August. For two days I have suddenly felt very tight to the point of not being able to keep liquids down! I have a lot of discomfort. I am very strict with my band and do not eat or drink things I am not suppose to. I am worried that my band has slipped but do not have any idea how that could have happened! Seeing my dr. first thing monday am but was hoping for some insight to make it through this weekend.

First Fill Today -- Positively PAINLESS!!!
Good idea! I told my dr. while he was digging around that I think this is a hand holding situation!
-
does this get a little easier???
Very helpful. Thanks. I am eating healthy and a lot less then I was. I realize that the band is a tool. BUt I feel like the weight loss is as hard as it was before the band. It's discouraging which as we all know is dangerous!!! I was really hoping that after this fill I would not be experiencing as much hunger as I am and it is only Day 2 after my fill.

Fill Newbie - Some Questions!
I am amazed that I had my first fill 3.6cc and couldn't swallow so the Dr. took out 1cc but yet others get as much as 4cc and can handle it. I am also feeling very hungry. I was hoping for restriction. At times I question whether or not this band will work for me. I try so hard but when I am hungry I break down and eat something. I feel like I am eating too much.

Horrifying First Fill
I had a fill last night and I had a very similar experience. I expected it to be painless. I have heard that over and over from friends. Yikes not the case for me. Now I seem to have very little restriction. Is this normal?

First Fill Today -- Positively PAINLESS!!!
I had my first fill last night. I felt it to be very uncomfortable. I really thought I wouldn't feel anything. My Dr. put in 3.6cc's and then had me drink. I was hoping it would go down so I did not have to have any taken out. That however, was not the case. Not only would the sip of water not go down but saliva started to back up. I then started to feel like I couldn't breath. It was all very scarey. The Dr. took out one cc and I instantly felt better. The problem I feel today except for being very sore is I feel like I don't have much restriction. I of course have been on liquids, but I really feel hungry. Is this normal with 2.6 cc's?

Got my date May 28th EXCITED & little scared
Congratulations!!!!!!!

So is this my pre-op diet?
I don't think so. Do you have a surgery date? I had to follow a low cal diet for 6 mths before surgery. Two weeks before my surgery I had to go on a liquid diet. You're close-CONGRATULATIONS

How much time off??
I took off three weeks. I was positive I wouldn't need it, but now I wish I had taken 4weeks. I needed to take a few extra days. I did have a rough time with gas so I am not sure if that had something to do with it.

Liquids for 2 weeks: How Did You Do It?????
That's rough. I wasn't starving until this week. I am now 5wks out and have been very hungry this week. Did your Dr. give you a list of foods you can eat? I could have tomato soup, sf Jello, sf popsicles. I used a tomato Protein soup. That would keep me full for hours. Good luck!
