Anyone who thinks that bariatric surgery is the easy way out, has absolutely NO idea what it entails. A person can out-eat ANY surgery. I'm almost 15 years out. Sure, the weight comes off fast at first. Then you need to keep working to keep it off. I still weigh myself everyday.
GBP is a last resort, not an easy way out. And, no, I have never regretted my decision to have one.

The reason it subsides after a year is because by then you're pretty well trained. That's a good thing! Still, after 15 years, I will occasionally dump or stop up. It only serves to remind me of being aware. Sure it's not nice at all, but it IS effective!

I was very open about my surgery and I found it beneficial. Yes, there were some naysayers & some who were jealous. But at the same time, my story encouraged quite a number of others to seek help, and they, in turn, encouraged others.
As for your husband, if he treats you well and loves you deeply. And you love him deeply, all you can do is reassure him that you're still the same person, no matter what you weigh.

Try the "grazing" method. Take a bite of food, then go do something, then come back for another bite.
I used to keep mixed nuts at my desk. In my job, I needed to be away from my desk quite a bit, so I'd take a few nuts and go. Keeping some hidden in the back of your desk drawer could work, too.
I also recommend getting some Trim & Healthy Mama Integral collagen. It has no flavor, is high in Protein & you can put it on or in anything. It's good for your bones , nails & hair, too.

I only told a few family members and that's it. I'm sure I'll share with more maybe later on

of dry meat? eaten too fast and not chewed enough? absolutely. it almost happened to me after two bites of day sausage yesterday. i'm about the same post-op as you.
i mean, did you get faint/sweaty/shaky/lightheaded/confused? if so, did that take an hour or more to go away? dumping CAN result in vomiting, but it's more of a system failure due to extremes in blood sugar. it's not a plumbing issue with esophageal and pouch pain.
was the vomit coated in lots of drooly slimy stuff?

I made the decision to be honest about how I was losing weight - in part to help educate people that this is NOT the "easy way". I've only gotten crap 2 times when I've told people about getting sleeved and after I shot back with "that's like telling me I cheated at skydiving by using a parachute", they both shut up and started listening to the science behind my choice.
