  1. I am already on insulin and have been since day one. I also take junuvia. I am considering asking the surgeons office is they work with an endocrinologist who is familiar with lap band. I told my endo and he said lap bands are to easy to cheat with. Nice support.
  2. Jack, I am in the the beginning stages having been accepted but still no surgery date. As with Caligirl I am so concerned about controlling BG during pre and post op diets. Can you chew glucose tablets to control lows? I considered GBS because 95% of diabetics go into remission almost immediatley but my husband doesn't care for the mortality rate so we are sticking with Lap Band. I would love to go off meds and insulin.
  3. Hi I am in the beginning phase. Have my educational meeting coming up. I am concerned about the liquids only phase and how you handle keeping your blood sugar level? I need assurance.
  4. I am still in the application stage. My concern is how the liquid diet or not eating post opaffects your (our) diabetes. I am concerned with going to low and crashing.
  5. Hazel eyes, Why does only your husband know? I do not want to tell anyone for fear of failure but because I am involved with a free health clinic I did share it with a few doctors and nurses to get there suggestions so I will have a bit of a support group and I will ask for prayers from my "family" for stomach surgery. Good luck
  6. I was excited to find this thread. I have not had surgery yet but am concerned about the not eating part when you first have surgery. I am a dishrag when my sugar gets too low. I know the doctors know how to handle this but it would be reassuring to here from other diabetics first hand. BTW I am on insulin and januvia.
  7. I have a psych evaluation on Monday. What are they looking for?
