  1. Congrats Kathy! Nice...... and yes Jill I noticed too - way to go!!!
  2. Yep they do have a fitness center - but NO WAY will I go and work out and then go all sweaty to my classes -- too much work to bring workout clothes, etc. -- I am OLD so I will exercise when I get home at night lol I work out now - two 26 min sessions per day (up from two 15-min sessions) on the treadmill. I have disabilities and this is great workout for me - I might get up to 45 min by Sept. and I might not - not hung up on it -- I know my limitations....
  3. she must have soaked her bread in wine first! baaaaaaaahahahaha
  4. I agree! It is going to be really tough for me once school starts up again (for me-I went back to college) not just my kids.....things get hectic, that's for sure. My plan is to work up to a full 45-minute treadmill walk - that way I can do a complete workout in one session at night (versus two separate 26 min. walks now)....hopefully that will give me the same results.......
  5. Still chuggin along on the trudgemill -- two 26-min walks again today
  6. Psssst.......Golum..........soak that bread in wine first ROFL - then you can eat it!
  7. ROFL - just got back to this thread --- P'Nut you are just one crazy gal!
  8. :) Happy Birthday Ladies!!!!!!!:huggie: :happybday: :happybday: :happybday: :happybday:
  9. lol P'Nut - had to read this thread! OMG it is too hysterical........imagine the :ranger: :typing: :drama: faces of those who don't know you lol
  10. Thanks Telly! I'm kicking my own butt in gear lol........saw you are a "peanut butter fanatic" - I 'was' too - until last week when I got bloodwork results back and cholesterol is up again - sigh - no more peanut butter for me - have a bite for me Telly! lol
  11. If I knew how to 'quote another post I would -- duh - sorry -- I am exactly the SAME - I don't rule it out completely either but at this time we ARE losing way - one day at a time!
  12. BPM - sounds like we are both in the same boat - so to speak....researched, researching, and made great friends here who support us on our choice of weight loss just like we support those who have the band, had the band or are in the process of getting the band the way I see it - we are all 'in the process' of losing weight - one way or another :biggrin1:
  13. Ok - here I come - newbie alert! I never thought I exercised enough to talk about it - but today I worked out harder than I ever have before (or was able to): Treadmill - (after brerakfast) 26 minutes (after dinner) 30 minutes
  14. lol - old threads/new threads -- hijack away! .....I haven't decided against it 100% but then again I am choosing not to get it at this point in time - so I'm not so different - at least I don't think so....
  15. I'm not sure what brings BPM here - but I am not banded either -- and quite frankly - I listen every day and gather info about the band - have various reasons (Medicare, finances for fills, etc) why I am not banded - but I have been embraced by a great group of folks who encourage and cheer me on daily - so that is why I am here - even without a band
  16. Welcome to the club Lookingout........and Mystjin - lol - better late than never! congrats on the loss two weeks in a row!
  17. Just to be clear -- thanks "Just Paul" for the compliment - I do NOT have a band - and yes I am working the WHOLE program even without it -- so don't worry - the band will work if you work the band! Just keep reading posts on LBT and you will be convinced!
  18. I don't know about width and such - but once you find a 'good' shoe that fits well - it is worth going to a foot and ankle specialist in your area - they will make personally formed 'inserts' that cut down and cushion your foot and help with ALL kinds of problems....I strongly recommend them! No - you don't have to be diabetic to get them.
  19. WAY TO GO EMILY!!! That's fantastic -- forget yesterday - celebrate each new day instead! 100 lbs! We want pictures! woo hoo!
  20. C 261, -2 this week, - 17.5 total Better late than never I say - lol - a long and sleepless night for me sent me back to bed for most of the day - but I'm here - congrats to all who lost this week! and hugs to those who gained or stayed the same! Next week WILL be different....... OMG Telly - 6 lbs and you want a fill? you nut!
  21. P'Nut - I would have to do the same thing - hold on for dear life! I would be most fearful of losing my footing and falling - something my back wouldn't handle....hey you were sweating - that's proof of a great workout right there! Way to go on dropping those pounds!
  22. From one chocolate lover to another: ShellyJ - if you are really struggling and want/need some chocolate - I found Weight Watchers' candies to be yummy (made by Whitman's)--- they really do the job and taste as good as the regular stuff - just watch out and eat only one at a time - they have 'saturated fat' which I have to watch due to high cholesterol you can buy them by the bag (I think 6 in these) or individually - I found them at Jewel/Albertson's and Walgreens Crispy Butter Cream Caramel : 3 pieces have: 8g fat, 6 g sat. fat, 5 mg cholesterol, 60 mg sodium, 23g carbs, 9g dietary fiber, 7g sugar, 3g Protein -- so again - ONE piece isn't too bad
  23. NJChick - geez ....bless you - it is really hard to do things like clean house and chase children - I used to do daycare (for 12 years) and had to stop - couldn't keep up with them lol....I have arthritis too - had outpatient laproscopy surgery two years ago on right knee - I had torn cartilage (doc doesn't know what from and neither do I) and arthritis just one level below most severe on his chart - he was shocked - and I have tendonitis in the left knee and most likely arthritis - yep - weight loss helps - as does some kind of exercise to combat the arthritis every day -- I usually take celebrex two times a day and an anti-depressant for pain - a side effect which they found helps people like us is that the anti-depressant tells the brain the pain is moved - gone - somewhere else - so it alleviates it - I couldn't survive without these two meds - and when the pain gets too bad I take Ultracet (ultram and tylenol) which works great for me I've herniated and now deteriorated 3 disks in my neck and 3 in my lower back - DDD been going on since I was 13 yrs old - are we having fun yet? lol Ironically - the two medications recommended for fibromyalgia are the two I currently take - so I kill two birds with one stone so to speak
  24. I had my gall bladder out many moons ago lol (22 years ago) and I STILL cannot eat a LOT of lettuce - a reasonable amount - but not a huge salad every day - and I can't eat popcorn AND any kind of carbonated beverage (aka diet pop) together (like at the movies) or I feel like I am going to die! I have to be careful of how much roughage I consume - that is the main issue for me
  25. Yep NJChick - we are a lot alike--- I tried to just 'walk' at a pool at the hospital fitness center and the nerves in my feet acted up so bad I had to stop -- now I walk on a treadmill for 15-20 minutes (twice a day on good days) and that is it -- if I walk a long time - like hours - shopping, etc I come home and can barely walk at all that night and the next day -- it is a very different world for those of us who have DDD, bone spurs and arthritis (yes I have all of these and sciatica plus fibromyalgia)...it is a challenge but I hang in there - some days are better than others....what medications do you take, if I might ask ?
