Hi everyone, my surgery date is december 19th. I voted on the poll. I live in wisconsin so we see snow alot .... but I love winter and would miss it if I didnt have snow for christmas. Holiday hotties sounds wonderful to me...

when did you start your process, mine started in april with the seminar, my six dietician visits and funny thing is my insurance approved me in just 2 days it took the clinic only 1 week and two days to get me my surgery date of december 19th. im excited and I bet you are too... keep us posted on your progress.. I have my surgery date its december 19th. I go for labs and to see my doctor on dec 11th. I have to go to a pre op teaching as well but I dont have that date yet. Just excited to finally have a date. But i understand why I had to go to the dietician for six visits and psych eval etc.

hi ronica, im still waiting but i have to be on liquids for two weeks.. but it may only be one have to wait and see when they schedule my surgery.. waiting for nurse to call me.. im sure i will hate that stage as well.. hang in there we can do it..

i worked in a nursing home for 20 years and some employees and patients would get sick from the shot. so its normal to vomit from them. its normally advised to get one again. some ppl just cant handle getting them. hope u feel better

I started at the end of april 08. everything is approved by my insurance now waiting on the schedulers to call me on my surgery date. it will be seven months at end of november.. it takes time so be patient best of luck Julie

hi yes there is a protein chewable pill at www.bariatricchoice.com they also have the bullets. I hear alot of people saying they have tried those and like them. But what about foods that contain protein as well. the pills only have six grams of protein in them though so not a whole lot. What protein powder is the best tasting one??? I will need to know this soon. I will have my surgery date on wednesday the 29th of october. thanks Julie

I asked my dietician this question when i heard it on here awhile ago. Its from lack of protein in your diet. You will need more protein .ask your doctor or dietician. thats what I was told anyway

Hi everyone, I only have 2 more dietician visits left one at the end of sept and the last one is october 29th . I also see the surgeon that day as well.. I have come along way and still thinking positive until last wednesday... here is the deal, I am a single mother and on august 29th my two youngest childrens dad died at the age of 38 he was younger than me. You see Im worried that I would be the one to die on that operating table. I have had other surgeries and have been fine. Just things have sure changed " IM THERE ONLY PARENT" My two kids are sixteen and fourteen I think Im going to talk to my sister and brothers to see which one if something should happen who would take them and get it in writing. Perhaps everyone is like nothing is going to happen but you never know when god calls you home. I still want this surgery very much so and Im sure I will. Just more nervous about this now. could use some support perhaps or words of wisdom.. thank you Julie

I just had to respond.. found it comical that we are close in age and have the same amount of children.. mine are 19, 16, 14. two boys one girl. Hi I just got my approval for the surgery but I have 4 more dietician visits first that is required by my insurance. This process could take up to 1 year is what we were all informed. I went to my seminar at the end of april. When I fimish my 4 dietician visits then i meet with the surgeon. I will be done in october with those. So I have no idea when the surgeon is going to put me on the schedule. I will say this it is a long process it isnt something you can do overnight. This is a life time change not like you can go to las vegas and get married that day. So expect at least 8 months at least.. goodluck julie

I know that you are doing fantastic!! and with lap band you only lose 1 to 2 lbs a week. And from what I undertand it takes time , you have to heal and you have just started to do that.. dont be discouraged it will come off.. Julie

What happens when you reach your goal weight? do they unfill you so you dont lose more weight. Or do they keep you slightly filled. I have been wonderfing about that. I will ask my dietician when I go to see her again.. thanks Julie

Thanks Leah Its nice to have support.. this site has helped me alot.. I have been just reading alot. I am so ready for this surgery and to lose this weight and keep it off.

I got my letter of acceptance today for the surgery. I have 4 more dietician visits then I meet with the surgeon. What stinks is that you can only go once a month. So it will be november before I meet with the surgeon.. Im getting more and more excited ... I knew going in that this could take up to a year. In november it will be 7 months not sot bad..

I think that you should just be honest and tell them that you are having the lap band surgery perhaps they will be more supportive then you realize. goodluck to you .. julie

Oh i intend to make sure that i get my adjustments etc... I have read so many posts of complications, and the positive side of the lap band. there are more positive then negative. I can tell you that this is the best source of information that I have found, and everyone has been fantastic .. thanks e1 ... my seminar just cant be soon enough.. lol Julie in Wisconsin
