Hi there Augusters! October crashing here, hope you guys don't mind. I had my sleeve on 10/27 and now it's that time that I can start introducing eggs and some flaky fish. On the liquids, purees, I haven't really experienced the 'full' feeling so am looking to you pro's for any advice on what to experience/do better when I transition to solids. Am a bit concerned about messing it up so any insight from you guys who have recently done this would be much appreciated. You all look great, congrats!!!!

Your journey is yours! Own it! Also, my surgeon said that men tend to lose faster than women, so that could contribute as well. We each have our own journeys.

After my doctor pretty much ordered me to lose another 40 pounds during the three-month period ending January 2, I had foot surgery on 10/20, which ended the exercise I had been doing but will make it so much easier and less painful to exercise in another week. While I may not meet my doctor’s goal for me, I have managed to lose 6 pounds since the surgery so I feel really good about that. I suspect the doctor is looking out for his statistics and/or limiting the number of post-op appointments for which he doesn’t charge an additional copay. I will lose the weight on my schedule, not his. I find it much better for me not to weigh daily. Seeing some progress weekly is better for me than not seeing much progress daily.

That’s 33 since surgery on 8/21. And someone asked about loose skin. I have some but not as much as I anticipated. But it has been suggested that slower weight loss allows the body time to adjust to the changes.

Care to elaborate on the following:
“...If your weight hasn't budged in 5 months, then it sounds like you have reached your new set point...”

    and

“...(Important question.. did you lose weight right before surgery? If you did, that impacts what I say next).
To be considered a medical success, you need to have lost 50% of excess weight within 18 months postop. So that would be 50lbs. Having only lost 37 this far.. if you don't lose more, then surgery DID fail you...”

I mean read so many people ‘s weight stall at first few weeks or months aft operation even they are following exactly wat was told.
How to speed up weight loss right aft operation?

I'm just too excited for this milestone and I know that you all would understand how major this is. Today when I got on the scale it read 198.8! This is the first time I've been in the 100s since probably high school (but I have no idea what I weighted then). I know in junior high I was 186 and I was probably shorter than I am now so this is a pretty huge success. I've never been able to lose weight like this with all of the different diets and workout plans before. I'm so thankful for the sleeve and that my doctor encouraged me to go forward with it. Since the sleeve my high blood pressure has improved, I was able to get rid of a CPAP machine and my chronic ankle pain from a childhood injury has improved a great deal. My last vacation in December I needed to use an ECV because walking was excruciating. I had another vacation last week that was three times as long and my ankle was sore some days but I was able to keep up and walk the entire time. The entire process has been so motivating and positive I couldn't possibly ask for any more.
I've now lost 112lbs since my highest weight and I'm thrilled. I definitely hope to lose some more, likely about 30-40lbs. Hopefully this will put be in a good goal range and I can focus on maintenance. I'm a little under 7 months from surgery and it feels amazing to actually have my goal weight in sight.

I got to recreate my 'before' picture and I love having the side by side comparison. I even took the same shirt and remade it into a much smaller size!

I was sleeved in June 2017. My husband, who has struggled with his weight for years, finally decided to have WLS to save his life! He should have surgery the week before Thanksgiving. My husband weighed 710 lbs in February of this year and has gotten down to 581 lbs. He starts his liquid diet this week, so we’re hoping he’ll lose more prior to surgery.
I’m having a hard time finding other WLS patients who started as high as my husband did.

    Hi everyone!
I'm coming up on the 3 year anniversary of beginning my WLS journey and I recall very vividly how daunted I felt by the fact that I needed to lose 300 lbs. I turned to forums such as this for stories of those who had somehow managed the feat and held on to each one for inspiration. Now maybe I can inspire others...
My highest weight was 480+. I had a year and a half wait before getting my sleeve and went into surgery weighing 342 lbs. Today I am 16 months post-op and weigh 190 lbs. That's 152 lbs lost since surgery and 290 total. I feel like I'm getting a second chance at life and i am constantly amazed at everything i'm able to do now.
    You can do this too!

Congrats to everyone! I had my sleeve done on July 19th. I am about 2 months out now. I started at 441 and and currently at 374. This is one of the hardest things I have ever done. I have to keep telling myself that it will all be worth it in the end.

I do this too! One thing I try to tell myself is that I can get seconds. If I tell myself there is nothing stopping me from refilling my plate, that helps me get over that block, because when the time comes I am too full to actually do it.

I noticed something about myself and I was wondering if others out there were having the same issue. When I'm making myself a plate of food, I'll take a look at 3oz that is on the plate and think, "that is not nearly enough" and add more (yes, I use very small plates). I never can finish it of course but I don't want this to turn into a habit and then over eat. Can anyone offer me any help on how to overcome this?

The spray in my case was prescribed by my surgeon. They deliver, have auto-replenish and are covered by my insurance. There was a co-pay that I’ll be paying monthly.
