I realize now why the people in the yogurt, ice cream & hamburger commercials eat the food slowly. They must be on the liquid diet and that bite is literally all they are allowed to have I know when I get my 1 Greek yogurt per day I eat it slowly and savor every bite too Hahaha!

The closer I get to having my surgery (the 21st) the more I want to tell people. I am proud that I am finally taking control of my health and getting my weight under control. We are going to visit family for a week around Christmas and trying to hide it when visiting 2 different families everyday just seems exhausting. I don’t want one of my kids or one of the few people I’ve told to slip so I think I will just let people know after I have it done. One of the people I told is already telling everyone at church and one person has been very disrespectful in addressing me about it.

You are welcome no pretty but will move the convo swiftly along. People never ask my slim friends when they come to a meal and do not eat lol.

Reporting back...I was sleeved on Friday ,11/17- spent 2 nights in the hospital (dr. protocol). Once I got to my room (around 12noon) I wasn't allowed to have any liquid (again dr. protocol). I was a miserable mess. Hungry and terrible air/gas pain that settled in my upper left shoulder/back. Once I started walking the pain subsided. Day 1, Saturday post op I was allowed to start my liquids. I increased my walking and almost all of the gas pain subsided. Here I am day 2 post op, Sunday) I am feeling great. I am home resting, drinkings fluids and getting up to walk around the house. I do have slight pain around the incision sites. Bending over is a no no,and getting up from a chair hurts too.
I hope everyone in the coming week and rest of November has a smooth surgery and recovery!

I always thought the size of those cups of yogurt were sort of a joke! Who could ever just eat one and be full. Now I know, sometimes I can’t even a full cup of yogurt!

You are making the right decision. Yes there is always a chance for complications but life is complicated or can be. You stay strong and brave and show your child never give up. Your family and friends should be supportive and most likely will be. You are making a life long decision. I was very scared and pissy before surgery. I almost did not go through with it because my surgeon had an emergency and i was in pre op Forever! I got so mad i just about ripped my IV out. So fast forward 11 months later and 130 lbs skinnier...one of the best decisions I have made. You can do this!

I just ordered mine a couple of days ago and had the same question so I emailed the company. This is their response, "Our formulas were based off of the nutrition guidelines from the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
