  1. My new present to myself is the cruise. I am going to buy cruise dresses, and a new bathing suit, and I am going to work hard to be as hot as possible for when that time comes!! DH works with a woman who had the band done about 2 years ago. she reached goal in 18.5 months. And by goal, I mean she went from 400 to 150 pounds. She was 5ft7. what did she do to reward herself? Traded her car in on a little sport car. Cause she could finally fit into it. I say you go girl!!!
  2. I have made a decision. I am not going to be here tomorrow. this was tough, but I have to push away officially tonight because of all the stuff i need to get done. My husband, bless his heart, tried to help. He cleaned the house, did a great job, but then did all the laundry, and made dinner. Problem is he left a ton of dishes in the sink and a messy kitchen, and didn't fold any of the laundry. He tried, but now I mus clean up his cleaning up. I also still have not packed, and i have to go out tomorrow and stop the mail, buy a carryon, get cash out of the bank and into travellers checks, and make sure that everything is in order. We plan on getting to the airport at about 2pm, but now i am thinking i want to be there at 1:30. Our flight leaves at 4:40. Which means boarding at 4, and the lines for security are always insane at Tampa. Sucky. I really hope that you guys understand. I will be on and off tonight, but tomorrow i am officially off. Any weigh ins that come in tomorrow will have to be added to next week. But please post them so everyone can see. Pray for me, my surgery is on the 10th. I will be thinking of you all, knowing that you all did this, and I can too. Mysherrijo and i are getting banded the same day, by the same doc, so pray for her too. It will be good to have a GFG'er there at the guest house! I love you all. I will be keeping in contact with pnut, via cell phone, and you will all be updated. Bye!
  3. :welcomeB: * SBaker * :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: I would like to welcome you in now SBaker since I am leaving tomorrow. I hope that you get from the Gone For Good club everything that we have. Support, guidance, and a swift kick in the butt when needed. It is really a great group, and we have totalled some amazing weight loss together!!
  4. Easy! Just give us your stats, tell us a little about yourself, and commit to yourself that you will try to drink as much water as possible, workout as often as possible, and eat no sugar. And above all else, that you will be true to yourself and your weight loss journey. I will get you added to the boards, and we will be really happy to have you aboard!!
  5. Ok stats are updated as of now. If you posted before this please take a look back on the first page and see your name there. If there is someone I missed, or if there is a correction to be made, please let me know ASAP. Lot of maintainers today. And some gainers. I am sorry to you all for the frustration you are feeling. I know how it feels. We all do. So lets pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and get back on the wagon. Lets make next week a killer one!! Tons of Water, work out till you just can't move no more, and stay away from that sugar!!! We can do this! Or I will tell Pnut he needs to get dawg in here and he'll start whackin people with fish. :banana:cheer2::banana:cheer2:Go GFG Club!!!:cheer2::banana:cheer2::banana
  6. Mistjin, Way to go on joining a gym!!! You will find that with increased workouts and staying away from the evil chocolate that your body really starts to crave it less and less. There has been ice cream sitting in my freezer forever now, and honestly, I do not even like the looks of it. Pnut once told me that her tastes have changed since she has been losing. I think the same is happening to me. Tess, congratz on the loss! So glad you are happy with it and feeling better. :grouphug: Sherri, I think that is a really nice gesture. One thing I would say though is that some have just taken a break from LBT and are not checking in because the challenge is not going on. I would not want anyone to feel left out because of that. Lets wait for the challenge, and you sticky that money somewhere where you can see it to remind yourself for your weight loss. And GREAT job on that 5 pounds! That preop diet is working girl!!! Surgery is getting close! I can't wait to meet you in Mexico!
  7. WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! ROCK ON PINK TOES!!! That is so cool! And it makes me smile so much to hear that it has affected you all day. Keep that happy feeling with you till you reach goal. I know you will make it, and you will feel SO AWESOME!! 1000 times what you felt today!!
  8. Stitchy, yeah I keep an email address just for things like this. I'm sorry I did not tell ya. Lianna I remember a lot from my bartending days too. DH took the test and was at 120. He got a lot of the beer questions right. LOL He asked me what a pousse cafe was. But the way he said it, he had this look like he was saying something dirty. LOL
  9. Alice I am so happy for you that everything went so well!!! I can't wait to meet Dr. Cardenas when I go to monterrey this week. I really can't wait to see pictures of you!!
  10. If you cannot find someone under your insurance, or if insurance will not cover it, I would suggest giving Dr. Cardenas a try. He is in Monterrey Mexico, and deals with mostly weight loss patients. He is amazing at what he does, and takes more time and consideration than any other doc I have met. I did not have my apron removed, but it was because of his care and consideration, and the fact that he actually looks at each patient case individually and with great depth and care. the price is also about 1/4 to 1/3 of what the surgery would cost here in america. If you want his info, just pm me. He is definitely who I will be going back to after I have lost some weight to finally get the apron done. I will also be going to him when I have reached goal to have a total body lift done (boobs, back, hips, legs, butt, arms and tummy)
  11. Pelerojo I am being banded by Dr. Sanchez as well, on the 10th of this month. I am packing now. We fly out tomorrow. I am so excited that I am litterally bouncing in my chair here. My husband (being the father of a 3 and 4 year old) has asked me twice if I "need to go potty". LOL:D
  12. Leila, thank you for sharin that with us! We are so glad to have you here!! Maryb, have an awesome trip!!! You will have to share pictures when you get back! I haven't been on a missionary trip in forever, and miss the work. We will miss you till you get back! Lins and NaturalBeauty, TOM sucks. :grouphug: I'm sorry you guys are having that, but it will be over soon. Maybe next week the water weight will be gone and you guys will be down a pound or two. I wanted to post a link to the LBT 2007 South America Cruise here. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=251845#post251845 Jenna (princess) is setting it up and is doing a lot of work to get it started. Looks like it is going to be a great time, and there is space for couples, families, and singles. So if you want to join in, go to that thread and take a look at the info. The ship we will be taking is a great one. Also, it is easy to pay for by doing $500 down and a little each month to get it paid off. Rob and I are definitely going. We love cruises. I will be doing all of the updates at once tomorrow. Glad to see so many turning out to do their weigh ins. Remember, I am leaving tomorrow afternoon, so get your weigh ins down now so that i don't miss putting you on the board. If you post your weigh in after I leave I will not be here to update it till I return. I fly back in next thursday, so I will update everyone's weights on that day. I just want to give everyone a really big hug. I had an interesting day. While getting work done and dealing with uploads I visited some old GFG threads. They really touched my heart, and made me feel so good about having the surgery on Monday. I am really excited, and my fears are at a minimum because of you guys here. Thank you, from the heart of my bottom.
  13. I would like to advise everyone to take the trip insurance. It is so little money, and if something bad happens it is really a great piece of mind!! When we were on our honeymoon we did not buy the trip insurance. We went on a cruise, and to disneyworld. Our luggage got stolen on our way to the cruise, and we lost everything. The cruise (albiet a bad one) did not offer any help, even though we found out afterwards it was an employee who stole our luggage. Our travel agent told us that the insurance would have helped us at least get some replacement clothes. We were also very sick and had to pay out of pocket for medical. It was an all around crappy trip. So please get the insurance. It costs nothing in the grand scheme of things, and really does come in handy.
  14. Can you get down any water at all? If you can, I would say any sort of water pill, and as much water as possible. You bloat even more when you get dehydrated (i know it sounds weird, but it is a stage of dehydration) and if you get enough water in your system it will help to regulate it. If you cannot get a water pill, and you cannot get enough water, try coffee. it is a natural diuretic. full caffeine too.
  15. Lianna i am so glad this helped you break that nasty plateau. I tell ya what you have added is just about exactly what I have added. Only I do a large bag of baby carrots, chopped, and instead of a 1/4 of onion I use 6 whole vidalia onions. they are about a cup to 3/4 cups each. LOL slight change. But I am sure it does not change the caloric base one bit. I can't wait to do this diet again after surgery. My new goal to look forward to is the June 2007 LBT cruise! DH and I are so excited, and we are going to be looking our best by then. I will be just about 1 year out, and can't wait to see what my bod looks like by then.
  16. http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=16336235046633759176 This is a cute test. No using the internet for answers. Here is my rating. Bourbon Congratulations! You're 123 proof, with specific scores in beer (20) , wine (50), and liquor (130). Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties.
  17. We are so there! I pm'd you my info! Looks great! and I can't wait to meet everyone there!
  18. I think that is FABULOUS!! What a great idea! And you will do it Diane!!
  19. :welcomeB: * Leila * MVPO8961 * :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: We are so glad to add you to the ranks of losers! I will get your names up on the first page. Leila, if you could introduce yourself and tell us a little of your weight loss journey, that would be fantastic! Welcome!
  20. I was thinking last night about what i might give for certain professions, and DH made a really good point. There are a LOT of nurses on this board. You all need to put what scrub size you wear too :grouphug:
  21. Pinkylee - way to go on the 2.5. you are just truckin along!! Tricia - Honestly, I am proud of you maintaining. When we bought our home in washington I put on 20 pounds. :grouphug: that was long ago, but I remember it clearly. I hope things are going well, and that home buying stress is not eating you alive. HUGS
  22. Telly - I think I want to be at 250 to go out and buy some stuff. Just a few things... Then I will schedule another goal at that point. But I think 250 would put me at a point where I can see myslef heading to orlando for a little outlet malling or something like that. Maybe a trip the millenia mall. That place is so nice. Mvpo8961 - Fabulous loss!! 6 pounds is really great!! I want to add you to the board. Can you give us your highest weight, surgery weight, goal weight? As well as tell us a little bit about yourself?
  23. I have not checked on the caloric information if that is what you mean. Basically i don't count it. But I would be interested in hearing if anyone has broken it down. Glad you like the soup BPM!! It is an awesome taste isn't it?
  24. I am sure you can, just do it intelligently. :grouphug: And you know how to do that so I am not worried. What a bod!! You really rock. And I know your goals are obtainable because you have the greatest mind set of anyone I know. You are in it to win it and are going to make this band work for you as much as it can. That is amazing!! I can't wait till we can go shopping.
  25. Linda - Thank you. And congratz on the 3 pounds this week. That is fantastic! My weigh in for today is C-306 (-66 total, -4). It was a hard week for me. Between the Breakfast my mother in law made when we dropped off the kids, all the fast food restaurants between here and northcarolina and yesterday's festivities I think I did pretty well. Not to mention all of the drinking. LOL
