  1. What is your normal food and do you weigh your food?
  2. I know what ya mean about losing too low and looking sickly. When I hit 164 my mom said I needed to stop. My face was drawn in and the skin was worse too ! I would actually like to hit 160 and hold there. I figure it will take me 3 months to lose 25 lb. I had already started struggling just to get a few pounds off and it sucks because a year ago I could do it without too much issue. So yes, I will be sticking to the 5 lb rule which worked very well for me until I decided to use covid as an excuse to gain 10 lbs !
  3. Well of course you did, you are Superman !! lol Congrats on the awesome losses. How did you feel at 3 months out? I asking you because I see you had your surgery in Oct. I am going on vacation in Sept
  4. I have been low on vitamin D and took the 50,000 U for 6 months and came back still low after the 6 months. I am still on it now. @catwoman7 Looks though you did very well on your weight loss according to your stats. Are you still maintaining the 150 lbs ?
  5. Hi all, I was sleeved 8/9/17 and from the very start I had issues. The first night after surgery I didn't sleep and neither did the lady in the room with me because I coughed all night in a raised position. Little did I know that coughing was a sign of what was to come. GERD !!!! A few days after leaving the hospital I was awoken out of a dead sleep chocking on acid that burned my nose and throat. I was given 3 different PPI before I found one that gave me relief from that part of it. I have had burning for almost 3 years now and have erosive esophagitis Grade D. My revision date has been reset now for May 22 ( 3rd times a charm) I am not happy to be doing this as the sleeve has worked out pretty well for me, although I know it must be done. I am 5 lbs over my original goal weight of 180 after getting down in the 160s this past summer. I would like to lose 25 to 30 lbs and that is about it. I am scared of all the unknowns and after reading the post " I Hate the By pass " it made me think about all the restriction I will be losing. I am also worried about vitamin deficiencies. Anyone out there glad they had the revision ?
  6. Have you been scheduled for surgery yet?
  7. You will still be able to eat wings, just not as many.
  8. I am in the same situation as you. I feel the same way too, I don't want to do it. I actually canceled my surgery that was scheduled Feb 26th. Now they are not taking appointments due to the surgeon being under quarantine !
  9. No dumping? I hope I am one of those who don't dump !
  10. I was a grade C but yesterday it was a D !! They are calling me to schedule the revision tomorrow. Glad that you are doing well. Have you had an EGD done since revision to know if it is helping your esophagus. Do you still have reflux?
  11. Has it been an easier recovery the 2nd time around? Are you trying to keep yourself from losing the weight this time around ? It appears I am going to have to do the revision and I don't want to do it because of GERD . I had EGD done yesterday and I have esophageal erosion that is progressing rather quickly.
  12. How are you doing with your by pass? Do you like it ?
  13. Are you taking a PPI ? If so. is it helping ?
  14. I had heartburn, but this runs in my family and I told them so. I have a cousin with Barrets and my Aunt has reflux and is on Dexilant along with countless others in my family. Most are all normal weight and I don't see them being told to have gastric by pass to fix it, as a matter of fact my Aunt is a NP and told me not to do it. I think the sleeve made it much worse and a lot quicker, but I don't know that I believe that a by pass will make it better since this is something that runs in my family. I could be wrong and only time will tell.
  15. The meds control the reflux as far as acid coming up through my nose and mouth. I really don't feel like I am suffering aside from not being on my meds. I went and seen the bariatric NP and she sent me in for a upper GI barium swallow. I reflux while drinking. They say my esophagus is working slow and that is why I have always felt like something is stuck or trying to stick. I guess I don't see how RNY will make my esophagus work correctly ?
  16. Yes I have the sleeve and the burning is bad, I have been eating tums like candy. Wonder why they make us go a week without it?
  17. So sorry to hear this. Wonder how often this happens? I am having the bravo test done the 10th. I cant do the whole 7 days without my Dexilant. I have only slept 3 hours. Did you have to go a week without meds for your bravo testing ?
  18. Wondering if things got better for you ?
  19. It was my 3rd PPI that took care of it. Have you talked to your Dr. about trying a better PPI ?
  20. I agree, I coughed like crazy after surgery and kept the lady awake all night that was in the room with me. I have Gerd and that is when it started. Good luck
  21. How much can you eat? Can you eat all foods you ate before the revision ?
  22. I read about the Linx but I also came across LNF ? Does anyone know anything about it?
  23. How are you doing? Are you glad you had the revision done now? I just got back from the Dr. office and they want to revise me to RNY due to GERD and erosive esophagitis. I am having mixed emotions about this. The surgery is scheduled for Feb 26th.
  24. I just got home from my Dr. appointment and am being revised to bypass due to Gerd and erosive esophagitis on Feb 26th. To be quite honest I don't know what I think about this, but he said it would not get better without it. UGH
