  1. Had the revision done at 7 30 am this morning weighing in at 180 my original goal weight. The first 12 hours were horrible. This was a very painful surgery for me and I don't know if it was because they also took the hernia I had. ( I believe they said they took it and not fixed it but I am still on the drugs. ) I have been given morphine to start with then they switched me to dillata because the morphine wasn't cutting it. I am back on liquid hydro now. I wasn't able to urinate either for the first several hours and I am still having a hard time with it. I have been crying through most of the day. Pain, anxiety and lack of sleep have been my companions as they are still not letting visitors in. I cant tell if I still have GERD . The gas pain has been in my neck and shoulders it sucks. I did 3 laps around the ward at 1 am to see if it would help because I thought I had read it helps with the gas. Well I will keep updating my progress here. Good night
  2. There is no way a WLS patient 8 weeks out can eat 2 pieces of bread in a sitting and I highly doubt they could eat even 1 piece without getting sick. Be careful and good luck to you.

    Week 2 eggs

They call Greek yogurt full liquids and cottage cheese, scrambled eggs are soft and you will only be able to have 1 or 2 bites and be full. If you are not comfortable eating those things then wait .
  4. Same here but in my case I go through days where I have no interest in food and it balances out.
  5. If you have not reached goal you may be asking for trouble. Watch out for the daily protein bar some WLS patients get addicted to them like candy. They are loaded with calories. I see you are only 4 months out these foods you are considering are dangerous in their own right and in my opinion you would be best to eat them only on occasion until you reach your goal. Just because they say its good for you doesnt mean it is. Good luck !
  6. Are you revising because of reflux, weight gain, or both? Not having restriction wont keep you from losing weight if that is what you are worried about. In fact I lost 12 lbs the first month after revision and weighed 180 at the time. In 2017 I weighed 296 the day of VSG surgery and only lost 14 lbs. You wont overeat because you will get sick and if you dump that is just as bad. ( at least it is for me lol ) I get violently ill and can lasts a few hours. Once it lasted 4 hours. Good luck to you !

    Revision completed

Yes and I had bad anxiety over all the changes and the things that were happening at the time. I would say by 4 to 6 weeks I was okay as far as tiredness. What do you think about it so far versus the sleeve ? Are you eating solids? Dr. Edwards let me move quickly and at 1 week I was eating soft food. Wendy wasnt too happy if I remember correctly but they moved me the same way when I had VSG so I wasnt to concerned and did fine.
  8. I lost the 20 in about 10 weeks and it was actually 22 lbs. I now bounce around 5 lbs but am having no problems keeping it in that range. With VSG I wasnt able to get under 164.8 and struggled to stay under 170. I am not having that problem with this revision, but am missing the restriction from the VSG.
  9. I know exactly what you are talking about and going through. It really messed with my head not feeling anything and fear/anxiety that I would gain all the weight back from not having restriction. I am 6 months out today and all is well as far as weight goes. You will lose at least 20 lbs and if you want to lose more you will. I still have no restrictive feeling but if I over eat I will get sick and trust me you dont want to get sick. If you are a dumper like me you wont be able to eat the wrong foods and will find out quickly what those are !! Good luck to you !

    Revision completed

I am weighing in at 163 and a few days from my 6 month revision. I went in for my checkup and am going to be having an EGD done to check for ulcers. This whole time that I have still been having the burning thinking I still have Gerd may be ulcers !!! Anything you can tell me about ulcers would be greatly appreciated.

    Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?

Sorry not trying to scare anyone if they need to do it for medical purposes. I had it done for medical. Just because I dont have restriction anymore doesnt mean you wont. I didnt want to revise in the first place so that has just made me more agitated about the whole thing. I also have to go in for an EGD again because I still have the burning which gave me the esophagitis and now they thinking I may have ulcers !!!

    Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?

I was revised almost 6 months ago. I had great restriction with the sleeve even at almost 3 years but now NOTHING. Its hard to wrap your head around it in the beginning. I hope you all have some kind of full feeling but I DONT. I feel like I never had WLS which scares the hell out of me. I can see how people regain with the by pass for sure and until you go from sleeve to bypass you dont have a clue !

    What is restriction?

Its the feeling you get at Thanksgiving Dinner. Dont expect it with a by pass.

  18. So sorry about the pain. My pain was pretty bad too those first several days. It got much better after I got out of that darn hospital !!! I agree with the others keep on them until they give you something that helps. ITS RIDICULOUS we have to beg for help with pain !

I rarely have the alcohol in the house. I started grabbing a few shot bottles at the gas station here and there. I also started drinking where alcohol was served wherever I went . I have not had anything to drink in 2 days now and am doing okay.

Nope, its the same. I think it has something to do with me not being able to eat anything I want and since I cant do that maybe I am trying to put that somewhere else? I had heard of transfer addiction before I ever had WLS but since I didnt have those issues with VSG I didnt see this coming. I suppose being aware had my antenna up which is a good thing but damn. I rarely drank before but I would say I have a few drinks several times a week now which may not seem bad, but for someone like me that had a few drinks every month or two this cant be good.

    Revision completed

Its hard to believe it has been 5 months since my revision. I weighed in at 159.6 this morning and seem to be holding steady. I dont feel like my weight bounces around as much. I am getting use to the RNY but am struggling in other areas now { alcohol}. I have never been much of a drinker but have noticed an increase and am trying to nip it in the butt now. I do not understand why this didnt happen with VSG . Any thoughts ? I see the team first part of November and am going to talk to them about this

    Hate bypass

You will lose weight. I was surprised that I hit the 150s. I never got below 164.8 with the sleeve and fought just to stay under 175. My metabolism isnt the best and I have never exercised through this whole thing because of my back. I strictly lost all my weight following the plan . I did lose 22 lbs after my revision 5 months ago and am maintaining with no problems. Its just different. Good luck

So I am a dumper on carbs or almost anything with sugar like ice cream. I do not dump on carbs like potatoes or rice. What I want to know is if you are a dumper in the beginning are you always a dumper ?

    Hate bypass

  25. Tracyringo

    gastric bypass more effective?

Well if you are a junk food eater you may dump and that will take care of that. Malabsorption doesnt last with calorie deficits, your body will heal itself and in a year or so and the only malabsorption you have is vitamins.
