  1. I've heard that stomach acids mimic hunger -- maybe ask for a prescription like pantoprazole?
  2. Mine was the full 180 days -- bcbs carefirst md
  3. So who's up for surgery this week? Are you ready/excited/scared?
  4. Day 5 clear liquids begins! One more to follow. I'm getting a light-headed. I quit BP medicine post-surgery, but I am checking regularly to make sure my BP is OK (it is). Surgery weight gain is almost gone, just one pound left to go before I hit losing territory. Sense of smell is elevated, hunger is dampened. Its weird not eating. I'm ready to eat. Even a protein shake sounds amazing right now :-). I've had a couple of SF popsicles and jello and both are way too sweet to really enjoy. Drinking aloe vera jc and probiotics every day. Just hanging in there! No regrets, just a simmering relief that it actually happened.
  5. Hey, another 3/14 veteran! How are you feeling?
  6. Ugh, its annoying! But maybe I'm just cranky, LOL. Or maybe its both!! SIL stopped by and brought back a big chunk of bread to chew on while we were talking... << this is my cranky face! I believe it was just a careless mistake, not a malicious effort. Clear liquids for two more whole days -- its gonna be rough.
  7. Another question: are you more sensitive to smells? Cause damn, I am super sensitive right now!
  8. Are you guys itchy yet? Have you pooped? Have you lost your surgery weight gain? Inquiring minds want to know!
  9. I envy you your shakes and cream soups. I'm on clear liquids until Tuesday -- sigh. I'm not hungry yet, but one ounce shots of diluted juice is so boring!!! I didnt get compression socks OR a waist thing when I left.
  10. I've had that since surgery, and it has been gradually improving every day. I feel it in my tummy, not my lungs. I used my spirometer a lot.
  11. I have 7 also, with virtually no bruising. Amazing.
  12. How does everyone's post-op swelling/water retention going? I was up 8# on day 3, 4# on day 4 (today). Sure would be nice to lose a pound or two soon.
  13. We knew I had a HH before surgery, but what should've taken a few minutes to repair took almost an extra hour.
  14. One option is to get a timer and a one ounce cup and drink 1 ounce every 15 minutes for 16 hours. This is working for me. Glowing urine may be from vitamins?
  15. @Presurg1 I'm so sorry. Please try to care for yourself during this difficult time.
  16. I think you need something for nausea before you end up becoming dehydrated!! Like others have mentioned, one ounce of clear liquids every fifteen minutes takes you to 64 ounces in 16 hours. I tried ramping up to one ounce every 12 minutes (~13 hours) and I'm not there yet.
  17. Interesting! I tried 5 oz water per hour and its too much for me -- 4 oz per hour seems to work just right. And I mean to say, I basically slug an ounce every 15 minutes.
  18. Well that is fun to play with -- thanks for the link!
  19. Good luck to you -- its easier than you think!
  20. I would suggest that the first thing you should do is get a handle on why you are anemic. I became anemic a couple of years ago, and my PCP took it very very seriously. My issue was gynecological, and after a hysterectomy and 6 months of Vitron C, I got it under control. I have anxiety, too, you can still take ADs after surgery. Good luck to you -- its a long process but I think its worth it!
  21. 4# a week -- not too shabby! I'm up 8#, LOL -- I knew better than to step on the scale!!!
  22. Good job with the BM! I hope to be there today or tomorrow. I am all about the liquids, too -- it does feel like a FT job!
  23. We have zoodles all of the time -- we dont even warm them up!
