  1. Im 9 weeks post op and down nearly 70 pounds. Im 47 and want to see my boys graduate high school and get married. You will be surprised how people will respect your decision and support you. This ia not cheating. This is smart. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. My first month after surgery included a post-op infection that needed a month to clear. Today, I find myself always uncomfortable. My stomach tends to feel raw - not hungry, but sore. I eat at best a few hundred calories a day and if I eat more than 3 ounces, my pain increases for about an hour. I also have no energy. Down 65 pounds and don't feel more energetic. Am I rushing my recovery or can anyone else relate?
  3. Wow! Mazel Tov! And you are a looker. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. I tend to have an egg or a small protein packed pancake for bfast. Quarter cup refried beans or a couples boneless chicken pieces. Dinner is often leftovers 4 oz tops. My calories range from 400 to 700 a day.
  5. I'm two months out and have dropped just under 60 pounds. Even on regular foods I can at best get 3 or 4 oz down. 6 days out on regular food is unheard of. Puree maybe. Talk to your doctor and make sure you are making smart choices.
  6. 30 days post surgery, down 40 pounds and the other day my lower left side starts hurting. Muscles spasms at first and now soreness. Also, my left shoulder started hurting again just like after surgery. I know there is some dehydration involved, but I freak out and fear kidney issues. I plan to call my doctor tomorrow if the pain hasn't subsided. Any thoughts?
  7. I'm 4 weeks out today and they are barely noticeable. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I did crappynon my preop diet. Get a good 2 days in before and you should be fine. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. If you are near Chicago you should see suburban Surgical Associates part of Kane baristric center. I had the band in 2008 and did great until about 2014. Then weight came back. I had a revision last month. Gastric Sleeve. Dr. Paul Guske did both procedures. Go see him. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I had Gastric Sleeve on July 25 also. I had a post op infection that put me back in the hospital for 5 days a week after my surgery. I am recovering but still on antibiotics. I've lost 34 pounds so far. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I'm down 33 pounds in 26 days. Keep the faith and you'll be fine.
  12. Mine took over 3 weeks. I wouldn't be concerned until the end of the upcoming week. You also can't control what is no longer in your hands. Stick with your pre-op diet and if you don't hear by Friday morning, I'd call your coordinator and raise some serious concerns.
  13. I didn't feel nausea but I had a hard time eating and drinking anything for the first 2 weeks. It subsided to the point that I am now getting close to the desired protein and water. But you should still call your doctor.
  14. My pain was unrelated to my infection. As long as you don't have a fever, you most likely don't have an infection.
  15. Hi, everyone. My stitch pain went away in 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was replaced by an Abstice that resulted in fever and some nasty drainage. Been in the hospital since Thursday. Hope to be home Wednesday. Thanks.
  16. Lower left abdomen stitch pain is nearly unbearable. Any advice?
  17. Gas was correct for the shoulder but stitch for the lower left abdomen.
  18. 8 days post op. Feeling good and dropping pounds. But last night I started experiencing terrible left shoulder pain, but more concerning, lower left abdomen pain. Thoughts?
  19. 5 Days in and having trouble getting the protein drinks down. Can low-fat cheeses and beans mushed be eaten?
  20. What a great idea. I'll do that an advise.
  21. Hi Gang, 5 days post-op. Having a difficult time getting down more than 200 calories a day and maybe 10 grams of protein. I am drinking a little decaf. Can you guys recommend a protein powder to add to my coffee?
