Sonoma fires- Staying focused
Where are you located? I live in Bennett Valley near the golf course and have been evacuated since Wednesday. Im thinking you’ve already had surgery- this is a very stressful time, so scary but we all have to be strong and part of that is self care! Don’t eat and if you snack can you make them healthy snacks? (Ya what’s the point of a healthy snack! ) My surgery was scheduled for the 17th but it’s been canceled....Stay safe [emoji173]️

OCTOBER 17TH SURGERY CHECK IN HERE
Mine was planned for the 17th, been a long process to get here. I live in Sonoma County in California and evacuated from the wildfires. Got notice this morning that it’s canceled and they’ll contact me when ready to reschedule. Of course that’s fine for the obvious reasons but also I can’t go home yet so no place to recover at this point. Life all around sucks right now. Hopefully I’ll have a new date soon!! Good luck with all your upcoming life changing surgeries- I’ll be following you [emoji173]️[emoji174][emoji173]️

OCTOBER 17TH
Hi there, thanks for asking- I am alive and my home is still standing but I’ve been evacuated, we’re all surrounded by 22 fires right now. So very sad. I spent a few hours in the clinic yesterday and do have a bronchitis flare up from all the smoke, Im on steroids and antibiotics. Phones and power have been down since Sunday and Medical offices have been swamped with fire victims so I just got ahold of the surgeons office today and they said surgery isn’t canceled but it isn’t necessarily on either- I find out Monday, the day before. I may postpone it for a few weeks because of my lungs and due to not having a place to recover- I’m in a local hotel with my son and two cats!!! I bet you’re excited ?? how are you doing??

OCTOBER 17TH
Update: I live in Sonoma County and, as many of you know, we are experiencing devastating fires here and in surrounding counties. My surgery is scheduled for 10/17 and I’m not positive it will happen. It turns out I am not sick but my sore throat was from the smoke I hadn’t even known about yet. Prayers out to all affected by this f***ed up sh** and hopes maybe to a surgery next week...[emoji15][emoji15]

What if I get sick before surgery?
Doing some deep cleaning before the surgery on 10/17 and there’s carpet in my bedroom. Dusted, vacuumed, moved things around, woke up some nasty dust bunnies...the end of the day I opened the windows and by bedtime I couldn’t breathe from one nostril it was so stuffed up and ended up pulling my CPAP mask off after 15 minutes because it was so hard to breathe. Woke up fine this morning but now I have a sore throat and thats sometimes a bad sign for me due to my asthmatic bronchitis, but not always!! Anyway, I’m drinking ginger lemon honey tea and freaking out! Clearly I can’t have surgery if I’m sick... If I get on antibiotics now “just in case” will they allow me to go through with surgery on them? I know they’re usually 10-14 days worth (the 5 day Z-pac doesn’t work on me) I hate doing that if I’m not really sick due simply to people’s abuse of them and the whole antibiotic resistance issue. And I don’t know what affect antibiotics in the body have in relation to VSG surgery. Normally I’d wait it out and see how it progresses but I have this pretty important date in a week and I either go through with it or consider giving them enough time to cancel and potentially reschedule someone in my place [emoji29] I guess I’m thinking out loud (!) and would like to hear your thoughts....many thanks [emoji1431]

Before And After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Photos
Can I ask your height, weight and BMI stats? Im 5’2” was 41 BMI and was finally diagnosed with severe sleep apnea which allowed me to be approved at 35 BMI. That’s when my surgeon asked me to drop 10-15 pounds. Everyone at higher BMIs lose faster and reading your post kinda makes me sad that I’ll lose slow too. And, what is fluffy fat??? You look great [emoji847][emoji847]

OCTOBER 17TH
My doc doesn’t require a pre op diet but he did tell me to lose 10-15 pounds last month. I don’t know if that was to actually lose or to see if I was committed enough. I did the liquid diet and lost 13.5 pounds and gained two back. He’s fine with it all and well surgery is in NINE days girl. We got this

I KNOW avocados are good fats so that’s why it’s puzzling she said NO NO! As long as I’m staying within a good solid program, and it actually stays down, I’m going for it...I’ll figure it all out with all the lovely help I’m getting here [emoji847]

He was so young (45) but he was morbidly obese. So sad. This is why I’m having surgery in ten days. I want to live. RIP Ralphie May, you were a funny man, thanks for the giggles.

How is the Bariatric Pal Stores food?
hmmm, my thoughts on the reviews and being on their forum is that they should be pleased that we eat their foods and offer honest opinions. If it's good stuff then we'll say so and if it's not we'll say so and hopefully they'll listen and make improvements accordingly. Or not. It seems like a huge convenience and so far the actual product reviews on the Store page seem favorable so I'll give a few a try after I get to that phase post-op. I am happy to hear you are a BC survivor I've seen it first hand with loved ones, cancer sucks....and you now have me thinking more closely about the soy issue post-op- I'll check the ingredients. My body will essentially be fully flushed (for lack of a better technical term) in the immediate months after surgery and this is the perfect time for me to get WHOLE, good-for-me foods incorporated into my new lifestyle. That is the goal! Thanks for the "food" for thought....T

Clear Fast product - how many of you used this before surgery
hmmm! Went to pre-op meeting yesterday and was instructed to buy 4 bottles of Clear Fast. 1 the night before, 1 the morning of and bring the last 2 to the hospital. I asked if it was cleanse like for the colonoscopy and was told no, it is a pre-op system hydrator and nourisher. Didn't question it. What I am learning is that every doctors program is different, vastly at times. From pre-op to the time spent on eating phases. I don't really question it since for the most part they work for the patients but its odd there is no real standardized program. Oh well.
