  4. Thanks for this mamamc32, i totally get the body being "freaked out" thing. My second doc appointment isnt until the end of the month but I think I will give him a call. My new stomach just feels bloated and even though its not painful, it is uncomfortable and I cant even really sip without getting that more bloated feeling. blech....
  5. I am 5'2" and had surgery on Halloween, Oct 31st. Surgery Weight was 211 and am currently at 202 for the last four days. I'm two weeks out and thought I'd have at least the weight loss I experienced while on the pre-diet (13 pounds) I have started a pureed stage and am kind of forcing myself to eat since I'm really just not hungry. Also, when I do eat I am having problems distinguishing when I am full- seems like I can't tell until I've taken that last spoonful that makes me hurt and feel full and bloated. And I stay that way for quite a long time- feel full overnight even and just dont want to eat, not even hungry when I wake up. I do wake up with energy, Im happy, ready to tackle the day, but feel tired as crap by the end of the day, Poops are either normal or the runs- I owe that to my gall bladder being taken out since that's when that started....I am guessing that the runs mean I'm not absorbing the nutrients I need to, which is not good..but then why do I still feel full? Oy Vey.... My son is worried Im not getting enough calories and may experience starvation mode- can someone explain what starvation mode is and what it means to a brand new VSG patient? I don't know if there are a few things going on here (bloaty fullness, no hunger, not consuming enough calories, the dreaded stall) or nothing at all but I dont know what I don't know, so any advice is welcome!

  8. I’m 5’ 2” and my heaviest weight was 223 at the end of August. I had huge fat pockets at/behind my knees and it was so heavy feeling, my knees hurt constantly with all that weight straining them. I have severe sleep apnea, high cholesterol and pre-diabetic. My surgery was 10/31 and my weight was 211. I am down to 202 today. I went back to work after a week and even though I packed puréed lunch, I totally forget to eat during the day. I just don’t get hungry! I was extremely tired when I got home so I’m resolved to using a timer to get my food down. I’m lucky to get two Premier Protein shakes down but those with eggs, beans and the Ricotta Bake, I’m hoping to get my protein up. Definitely easier on the weekend when I’m still relaxing to heal up! Stay the course all, we got this!!!
  9. Www.WhatKatiedid.com Fashion forward corsets, expensive but this site has a very informative sections to learn all about the corsets and waist training and the bad names the Kardashian’s have given to these lifestyles
  10. Me!! I’m in Northern California. Tummy is still sore but moving along. How’re you doing?
  11. Will you share the name of the scale pleeeeze ;P thank you!
  12. So when I was on my pre-op diet and had a couple cheat days, I became so stressed out that I was re-gaining (apparently I didn't really cheat THAT much, I guess I just felt really guilty!) Anyway, I went to my NUT appt and weighed in and discovered I'd actually lost 5 pounds. It was my scales fault - I'm thinking it is off between 3 and 6 pounds and I need a new one. Please offer a few options...some may be interested in weight only, others weight/BMI, whatever bells & whistles out these days.....many thanks for sharing your knowledge!
  13. Thanks for this- I think 10 pounds is reasonable and would put me in the middle of none and some I'm OK with that. I'll go home tonight, weigh myself and post....
  14. Superseding a goal is always good!! YES!!
  15. When weight training or toning your body, I can see that trade off logic since muscle weighs more than fat but I am on my first few weeks of post-op and someone mentioned this may be an encounter in the early stages. Can anyone explain this?
  16. Question: my surgery was 10/31. How do I calculate a goal weight for nine weeks out for this challenge? Thank you ?
  17. I bought two rotisserie chickens, removed the skin and picked the dark meat off (baggied it for the freezer). So the carcasses, white meat, 3 celery stalks, 2 yellow onions and 2 carrots went into the instapot and filled with spring water, pressed the soup setting and 40 minutes later, Voila. I strained it into a large pot and tossed the ingredients back into the pot, filled it up with water and ran it one more time. Strained it one last time into the large pot and seasoned both batches together. I got several Bell jars out of it and it was a thick yummy glutinous broth. Good to freeze in ice cube trays or popsicles molds, pop em into baggies and keep for later use. I’ve drank all mine up! So good and healthy [emoji317]
  18. Spent one night, pretty uneventful surgery and, so far, the recovery is pretty much textbook. Not much pain, lots of gas bloat still, upper part of my belly hurts- I’ll ask about that when I go to follow up today, probably the actual spot the cut/stapled my new stomach. I’m tolerating Propel, tea, homemade chicken broth, grape Protein 2o and 50:50 Premier Protein:Water. No BM yet. I’m taking a bunch of cat naps (20 minutes at a time) and I don’t like that, I’d rather sleep in good long healthy chunks of time and all night long. Supposed to go back to work on Wednesday and I may delay that until the following Monday, we’ll see.
  19. You look wonderful and you’re such an inspiration to me!! I love your posts, always so educational, thank you for sharing your knowledge [emoji846]
  20. Thank you and looking forward to your shares- there obviously are many of us that struggle with food addictions and obsessions!
  21. This must be a heartbreaking decision for you. I had an abortion due to extenuating circumstances in my life at the time so I understand this is never an easy choice to make. Stay strong and steady knowing this will be done as the best decision for you and your family. I support you too! xoxox
  22. Im finding that my skin has really cleared up this past week pre op with all the liquids and I’m now two days post op and I’m kind of glowing in the face! I might be mistaking that for a drug induced hot flash though LOL I got several samples of Caudalie face lifting cream from Sephora and of course it’s amazing stuff with a heafty price tag but it’s very soothing and a little goes a long way- my face and neck are loving it! For new tattoos I always use raw Shea butter and that is extremely nourishing! As soon as I can put it on my belly that’s what I’ll start using again, for now I use all over. Following, can’t wait to read what everyone else is in to....
  23. Head/Earphones, extra long phone charger cord and magazines. I couldn’t focus on a book and found mindless flipping through a People mag was what I needed. As soon as they had me up walking I washed my face & brushed my teeth and it felt so good. Oh and a small personal pillow if you have one- good to hold to your stomach if you need to cough!! Good luck to you , you’ll do great!! It’s not as scary as I thought it would be and I am just a little sore but no real pain or nausea!! [emoji847][emoji847][emoji847]
  24. I finally farted!!! Farts are great, aren’t they [emoji90][emoji90] how the heck am I gonna have a BM tho? It hurts to bear down and push something out.....on a liquid diet? Seriously?
