  1. I heart green soup. Today's offering: broth, collards, pictsweet seasoning blend, crimini mushrooms, shrimp and chicken.
  2. I just started Linzess this morning. So how much weight gain did you experience? He told me yesterday it would not cause weight gain? *sobbing* Sorry about your thyroid going out. Do you think it could be coincidental? That you gained cuz of hypothyroid issues rather than the Linzess? I don't have any experience with the Trulance. Wish I could give feedback.
  3. TY! And congrats! I will watch for it when it comes out!! Love the idea of only taking 1 rather than 3. And I'm not so sure the Celebrate have done a fantastic job of staving off deficiencies in me. Am low in several areas. So am in the market to make a change!
  4. So which multi do you think works best? (I'm looking for capsule or whatever works for RNY--no chewables though...can't handle 'em and don't want the added carbs etc.)
  5. Oh wow! Hey thanks for that @Alex Brecher!!! Very good info!
  6. I take the Celebrate capsules without iron or calcium, then take calcium separate. At bedtime, I take the iron and 1 extra vitamin C.
  7. Gosh I wish! My gut is so whacked. LOL. They just started Linzess on me yesterday. Gah!
  8. Ok, thanks! I was just told by my RD to separate it. She was only talking ferrous fumarate. So maybe she is just "hedging the bet?"
  9. Thanks for this explanation! It makes so much sense. I hope to see my iron saturation levels coming up by using it! I'm so glad you've found the answer to your iron problems and anemia! I know infusions are tough on you!!! So glad your ferritin has been normal! This is the one I take. It's the heme iron combined with the other plant one. Is this what you take?
  10. Alex what do you mean about heme iron interaction with calcium? I do keep calcium separate from iron by 2-4 hours. TY!
  11. Damn! No IF for me today. Had a terrible episode of RH last night. Second one that I've had now. Both times I woke from a dead sleep with profuse sweating, shaking, near-incoherence, heart racing, adrenalin rushing, off balance...stumbled to the kitchen and poured down some Fairlife Milk cuz it was the only thing liquid I could get to--juice cans are outside and didn't think to get one. Then cut an ounce of cheese and forced it down. But so nauseated... I made caprese chicken last night and used some pre-made balsamic reduction glaze. Figured since it was such a small serving it couldn't make much difference. I think it made a difference. Ugh. So scary. I was so mean to Mr. F. too. I couldn't get him to wake up to help me! I was panicking and needed the bg monitor and ketometer. Lort. This was the meal. It was 4.5oz by weight and about 1 1/4cups of food total, but I only ate 2 green beans, so about a cup of food. (That's 2oz of sauteed chicken, 1oz ps mozza/asiago, 16g campari tomato, fresh basil, 1/2tsp balsamic reduction) + 1oz of green beans
  12. #18 Top tip: Follow your doctor's/RD plan for portions at all of your stages. Don't overeat! Don't eat more advanced from where you are presently.
  13. Ok, here's the rest of the day: Lunch and Dinner: Lunch was 1cup Turkey Chopped Salad Dinner: Caprese Chicken and Green Beans (I only ate a couple of the green beans but finished the chicken. Then sadly, the balsamic glaze I used caused me to wake up with RH and a bg of 46 or less. Had to do emergency reaction to get bg back up. Felt terrible: hot, massive sweats, heart beating fast, foggy/near-incoherence, shaking like a leaf. Ermergerd! Yuck!
  14. Say hello to my bubba and sissy! Are you eating at Chuy's on Barton Springs Rd. while you are there? Have a blast!!!! Good times and greater margaritas!!!
  15. Well ... I’m much nearer to a lot of the regular contributors to this thread than I usually am ? You better not be in H-town! Just sayin'...
  16. Feel better! Looks yummy though!
  17. Gosh girlie! Wish I could help. I just ordered mine from Vitacost. Hope @GreenTealael gets this notice and swings by to answer!! Great question!
  18. YUMMY! Thank you for sharing your amazing recipe!!
  19. YUM! Tell us about your chili!
  20. Ok! Tell me somepin! Where y'all be? Let's play for the next 30 minutes!!! Go!
  21. Hi Alex! Great question! I'm gonna attach the pic below from the Feosol website. So I'm having issues with low iron saturation and thought maybe I wasn't absorbing my iron supplement. Also my old one was chewable (and tasty! TY Celebrate Citrus chewable iron!) but it was ferrous fumarate which may not be well-absorbed. I've read the heme iron is the preferable iron source for bariatric patients cuz it's better absorbed than plant based iron sources? I think heme is animal based if I remember correctly. This one is supposed to be gentle on your system and not cause the nausea and constipation that other iron can cause. So I started using it. It is too soon to tell if it's helping with my iron status, but will hope to know more next month! See what you think, ok? I know a lot of bypass patients use this kind cuz of the heme iron! Thanks for all you do Alex! (Sorry about showing the ordering button. Not trying to pull people off the store!)
  22. Can't wait to try them! Thanks! Hey Alex, would you consider also starting to carry Feosol Bifera Iron 28mg?
  23. Yay girlie! You look so beautiful and happy!!!! Congrats on goal!!! ??
