Marblicious got a reaction from BeanitoDiego in I don't know if I am making the right decision
Hey Knightsaber88, I don't know what your current weight is and I can only share my story. I struggled with my weight all my life, gradually gaining and gaining and at 53 years old I found myself weight 168kgs. As you get older things start to go wrong, blood pressure starts to go up, you become more at risk of diabetes, the ongoing weight means you are at risk of several different cancers. cholesterol and all sorts of other problems. I can't say you should do it but I can say it was the right decision for me. Only you can make the decision and if you are not getting the support you need. I suggest you speak to a psychologist or councellor as well as your doctor before you decide.
Here is some of the plusses for me:

The calmer you are the better. I have now had several surgeries, the best piece of advice anyone ever gave me is that if anything happens you will never know. So just relax and go with the flow.....

Marblicious got a reaction from Kahkeetsee in TLC's MY 600-LB LIFE Casting Call for Season 7!
I personally think it is taking advantage of someone who is in a desperate situation. It is an opportunity to show the voyeurs the warts and all of being fat, instead of exploring it as an illness. Why is it necessary to show them naked in the shower or someone else having to wipe their bums.
In my opinion this is purely for the entertainment of people who do not understand the illness and tragedy behind super obesity.
For people like us who have weight problems we can see the struggle and pain and it can be motivating. We are but a small portion of the watching audience and the rest is humiliating and dehumanizing.
Inside every overweight person is someone with feelings and problems and hopes and dreams. Surely it would be better to explore the illness from all sides rather than focus on the surgery and the way they look.
As the message says this is a CASTING call, to me, that says it all.
    Just my thoughts on this.

My pre op diet consisted of 3 serves of Optifast a day either in shake, bar or Soup form. I was also told to make sure I get 1 teaspoon of oil per day to avoid gallbladder issues. I was then also given a list of approved vegetables which included, broccoli, celery, onions, tomatoes, carrots, asparagus, mushrooms, capsicum, cauliflower, lettuce, cabbage and brussel sprouts. (a few other things that I can't remember off hand). I used to stirfy them up using my teaspoon of oil. Or make a salad. I only had to do the totally liquid for the day before and of course after the surgery.

The purpose of this was to reduce the size of my liver and to make it softer so it could be easily moved out of the way during surgery.
As others have said in this thread, please go check with your nutritionist or surgeon to make sure you aren't missing out on key things because you still need nutrition and broths won't be enough.

Honestly you don't need much. Here is what I took:
lip balm cause your mouth gets very dry 2 pairs of, soft pjs, but most of the time I was in a hospital gown Toiletries, because you will need a shower. Soft wireless bra to go home in Underwear I wore the same clothes home that I arrived in because I only had them on for an hour, Make sure you take things that are soft around your waist or loose because you will have incision sites there. A pair of slippers that are non slip My phone (cause I used it to read. but honestly I really didn't do much reading A dressing gown because you will be made to get up and walk to help get your blood circulating and get rid of the air they fill you up with Hand cream and face moisturiser I really didn't need anything else.

I have lost 41 kilos so far and I am already rolling my boobs up to put in my bra. Cup size hasn't changes so I am definitely going down the Plastic Surgery path. I am doing all this work to improve my health and I don't expect to be perfect, but I would like to be able to be comfortable.

I started this process with size 52L bra's and I have dropped several back sizes but the L cup is still there and doesn't look like going anywhere yet. I have dropped about 94 pounds and still have a long way to go. I hope when I can get my boob reduction that I don't have to have implants, I think that would devastate me. I have had enough lugging these puppies around and them being the first thing everyone bumps into. Whoever mentioned rolling their boobs up has it right, I practically concertina them into my bra now lol

Mine are dangling round my waist at the moment and I really hate to think what they will be like when I lose more weight. I am sure a guy would prefer to see them perky with scars than dangling round the waist lol

I agree with shedo82773. It is so important to lose it when you are younger. I am now 53 and like everyone here have battled my weight all my life. It is harder now than it ever has been. Same with Surgery, if you are gonna do it you are gonna heal and recover better and faster when you are younger. I really really wish I had had the wls 30 years ago. I also really wish I had my G cup size boobs reduced 30 years ago. But feel whether you do decide to have plastic surgery It is your choice for what is right for you, financially, mentally, physically. I don't think any of us should be ashamed to do what makes us feel better about ourselves. For me. I am lucky my insurance will cover some of it.
I hope and pray that one day I can accept my body for what it is and for what I have done to it. I also hope and pray that everyone here can do the same. It is painful going through life feeling like a second rate citizen because we are struggling with our weight. I tell myself everyday, I am a good kind person and that is truly what I want to be. And no one should be ashamed of doing the things to make themselves feel even better.
I think I got of the track a bit but just felt I needed to say something to all you beautiful people who struggle every day.

Mine stopped also due to my weight, I had my first one about 4 months after the surgery and it was terribly heavy. It is still intermittent and ranges from heavy to light I will be 6 months post op on 19th December. I had a bunch of tests done to check there was no issue and the doctor said it may take a while to normalise. I am also 53 so even though I am not menopausal yet, that may start to play into the reason mine may continue to be problematic
