Joe's wife got a reaction from itstime4me123 in Take measurement!
I'm a former bodybuilder and my husband had his surgery 2 days ago. The first thing we did was take waist and neck measurements. The scale is VERY deceiving! I applaud and support all of you for your journey! True winners!

Joe's wife reacted to clk in Take measurement!
Thank you! I went through a period where I didn't lose a pound but dropped several sizes.
I remember fighting with the scale the whole loss journey. It was a long, slow battle. Measurements might have eased my mind. But paying attention to my sizes helped. Not weighing every day, obsessively, helped. Weekly weighing gave me a more balanced, accurate perspective instead of daily heartbreak more due to sodium intake than reality.
Good, solid advice. Thank you!

Joe's wife reacted to Karcares in Dating horrors
You might want wait to share that info until you know someone better. Have a single friend who is dating and she explains away her "small appetite" with " I just ate", or "not that hungry, let's just get appetizers". Not everyone needs to know your medical history right off the bat.

Joe's wife reacted to OutsideMatchInside in No water 13 hours pre op??
I went 14 hours without Water and it was like 110 last summer. We have AC here though, so it wasn't like I sweating it out in the fields or something.
Better to not drink than end up with pneumonia because you have Fluid in your stomach and it ends up in your lungs.

Joe's wife reacted to sc09 in No water 13 hours pre op??
I'm sure it's because his stomach has to be empty. I couldn't drink anything after midnight the night before my surgery. When he gets in pre op they will start IV's for his Fluid.

Joe's wife reacted to Joann454 in What Were Your Most Helpful Pre-Op Preparations?
They gave me my scripts for pain meds and Prilosec at my preop appt two weeks prior to surgery. It was so convenient!
