  1. Had my post op check in with the doctor this am and I am down 17 lbs since before surgery and preop diet..woohoo. 17 pounds gone forever and I never wanna see them back again. My friends have said u can see it in my face and neck and my ring is too big for my ring finger now. Now if it will just melt off of my gut we will be in business. HEE HEE. Looks Like everyone is doing really well and losing about the same amount. Way to go fellow April Avengers
  2. i was at our support meeting last night and a quick fix for lasagna craving during the soft stage that someone reccomended was some ricotta cheese(low fat of course) some mozzarella cheese some sauce and italian spices and heat it up a bit in the microwave...will curb the craving they say.
  3. Just thought I would jump in here since I was browsing in the men's room..if I am allowed that is..I am an LPN (NURSE) in a physicians office. Ohh and guys my brother in law is a CAD GEEK too lol. Must be u engineers. He wired his whole house..down to the basement and the bathrooms with ethernet when he built his house. LOL made me laugh and think of him when u said that. He is a mechanical engineer for a company that designs fire trucks.
  4. omg I love Lasagna...i probably would of put some of that in a blender added some more sauce to it and mixed it till it was liquid and drank it. LOL I have no will power lol. I can have anything that is liquid so if u can beat it up to a liquid state then u can eat it. But i bet it would look gross
  5. your port will be in the incision that is the biggest on ur body, They need more room to get in there to sew it to your muscles. The other one is probably just scar tissue forming under the scar. I have one like that too
  6. I have the diarrhea too but i am on the liguids still and that is why not sure where u are at in the food stages. If u are taking in alot of fluid ur stools are gonna be runny
  7. Men can be pigs bunkey and do things that women will take offense to. I would take it with a grain of salt. Take that he said u look good as a compliment. Just mention to ur husband that u dont appreciate that his friends are making bets on u and leave it at that..just dont make a big deal out of it. Let it roll off ur shoulder. Given some time u are gonna be one hot momma.
  8. no nausea but crazy hungry though..i even took a weight watchers smart one dinner..meatloaf and mashed potatoes and used my blend stick on it and added water and ate that . was nice to have something warm
  9. Mrspws i freaked a little too when i felt the bump where my port is.. thought I gave myself a hernia or something. Then I realized that was the hole the doctor told me my port was in cuz I asked him. Things will get better. Im sore too but I hate taking the pain meds cuz they knock me out. All I do is sleep on them. So i try to avoid them except for at night.
  10. Gill it isnt a bad hospital stay just overnite. If u had been in for ur knee before then u can make it thru this. Pain is not that bad just more of a soreness then anything..atleast it is with my surgeon. Depends on ur pain level tolerence I suppose. Well worth it though. Good Luck
  11. Good Luck to all the ones going in for surgery. I am now 2 days postop. Still having some gas pains but not real bad. Just need to toot them out lol. Feeling ok. Groggy from the pain med which i hate to take but it helps releave some of the soreness. Otherwise just trying to getin the groove of this new diet and way of eating. Not too bad though cuz I am really not even hungry. Gotta force my self to eat and to drink but have to keep the fluids in ya. Hope everyone else is doing well
  12. just eating what I had in the hospital...some creamed soup of some sort i think it was beef lol. and apple juice. Lots of water. No nausea at all. Feeling good. Just achey.
  13. I'm home too beast and a bit sore but not in any major pain pain. Have the meds if I need them though. Surgery wasnt as bad as i thought it would be...not painful at all ..just soreness.
  14. I am so hungry for hot tea with peanut butter bread.....ughhh. Weird things that u crave. I think white bread is the one thing that I will miss the most. But atleast I do like wheat bread.
  15. Tomorrow is the big day...good luck on tuesday wannabe
  16. Well tomorrow is the big day and I am NERVOUS. I am not a fan of needles and surgery just makes a person nervous. Thank God it is first thing in the morning. Can't wait to get it over with.
  17. Well Beast I think I got u beat I think I will be the first one banded on Monday...my surgery time is 8 am gotta be at the hospital at 6 am..and I'm in PA. UGHHH. I am taking 2 weeks off of work. I have the time to take off so I am taking it
  18. Hi everyone..I am Tracy. I am a 38 year old single mother of 2 wonderful sons ages 19(will be 20 this month) and 13. I live in Windber, Pa and will be banded on April 7, 2008 at Windber Hospital by Dr. Kim Marley. I work as an LPN in a physicians office. Very nervous about my surgery in 2 days but am excited about what the results will be. :tt1:
  19. I am hoping that the pain is not much more then what u get with gallbladder surgery cuz i can handle that..my surgery is in two days and getting very nervous.....Congrats to all the newbies
  20. There are 2 bikinis under the small bust section of the swimsuits lol..yeah I looked there..I'm built weird..I'm a fat chick with little boobs lol
  21. Just wanted to say that I noticed one thing about u in those photos in particular. Did u notice how good ur skin looks since u lost the weight?? I guess that must be one of the pluses from this too. Looking good there ...Glad I have boys or I would not be letting them near ya hot stuff LOL
  22. i was able to shower the next day after my gallbladder surgery and they were the same type of incisions. u just cant sit in a tub and soak. They sew u up on the inside with dissolvable sutures. Water isnt gonna get in the inside.
  23. wanab, I will be leaving the day u are coming in the hospital. SO we may see each other in passing. Good luck will probably catch u at the support meetings.
  24. Ok now that scares me..they better not cancel on me for my surgery. I had to take time off of work and they had to set up someone to cover for me for the 2 weeks I will be off from the day of surgery. That will screw everything up if it gets cancelled. How often does this happen??
  25. My doctor said I can swallow all my meds after surgery that I didnt have to crush any of them. I'm on Atenolol, Topomax, Citalapram and Chantix. They are all smaller pills. Thank God I don't have to crush those things ughhhh
