Jennifer0730 got a reaction from Yadifan in Longest stall
One of the Facebook groups I belong to is running a 100oz-of-water-a-day challenge to break any stalls. I've been pretty slow at losing this past two weeks so I'm going to give it a try. I've also realized that I may not be eating enough. Have you been monitoring your protein/carb/fat/fluid intake? I hadn't been and I think that may have been one of the reasons for my stall. Not being hungry (EVER!) I tend to forget about eating.

That's great, congratulations! I feel a similar feeling to you when it comes to food now. I realised that I actually think about good more AFTER surgery but in totally OK with that, I get why. Thinking about food more means I'm looking up more recipes which I'm keen to try and create. It's given me more excitement over food even if I'm consuming much less of it. My relationship to food has really changed for the better.

2 Months post-op and still getting used to this whole process. But what I’ve realized is that I am slowly learning that food and calories do not own me and it’s a great feeling!!
I have been on diets for many years and for a looong time, I refused to make dinner or cook anything for my family. I look cooking and learning new recipes but I would put myself on such strict diets and the need to count everything that was going in, that the thought of cooking and having to taste the food to make sure it was good would send me into an anxiety tailspin. I would either not taste it and sometimes the food would not be great or I would obsess and end up eating half of it. So because of that, I just refused to cook and would argue with my husband at times about it.
Well, since getting sleeved I have been cooking pretty much everyday or every week I’m sure it’s more mental than anything but bc I know I have the restriction I don’t fear the thought of tasting my food and trying to make sure it tastes the best for my family. And if I want some (now that I can have most foods) I eat a bit and I’m satisfied.
For me definitely a victory since I feel more and more in control and that is a fabulous feeling!!!

I had pain meds on my first day in the hospital (sleeved at 8:30am). The second day I had one dose of Tylenol, then nothing afterwards. I was discharged the day after surgery.

    7. Don't start worrying about piling on the food down your piehole until you are 300% sure you've TOTALLY and I DO mean TOTALLY cleaned out your poop chute from pre-surgery and anesthesia holocost survivors. I swear truth to the nth about this!

This is a hard time - things do change, so try and just do one day at a time.
You have lost 27lbs? Amazing! Be proud.
My tastebuds changed, and many of us are surprised how much we can eat. This changes a bit, too. My RNY feels tighter now than 6 weeks ago.
Just stick to your plan - mostly, it slowly comes to a good place.
    And did I ask - 27lbs in a month?!!

Anxiety is my middle name so I DEFINITELY know where you're coming from. Some days I'm a little more stressed about the whole situation, and other days I'm care-free. Two days ago my sleeve felt a little tighter than normal and I was convinced I had a leakage. I'm not sure why that popped into my head - I don't even think that's a sign of a leakage! LOL But like someone said earlier in the thread - take one day at a time, keep sipping, and know that your body is built to heal itself. Best of luck to you!!!

My doctor asked me if I was on any XR beforehand, fortunately I was not. Like the other poster said, maybe you can ask again. I personally had no issues taking my meds and I take like 8 pills each morning. I hate having mental illness, but it is something we live with everyday.

That doesn't seem right. I've been on Wellbutrin XR for years and I took it the day after surgery and am still on it today. If I were you, I'd see if there were other surgical programs in your area that will allow you to take the meds you need or talk with a psychiatrist to help you to stay on the XR while still pursuing surgery. A good number of doctors are not well-versed in psych meds, so I would fight to get the care you need.

I would never say that you don’t need a good support system. But you are strong enough to start this journey with your own goals and dreams backing you up. My family and the few friends I told were a bit negative at first, but no they were worried. I just had my surgery on 2/13 and I’m doing great and my family has been great! After a while, when they saw how dedicated I was to the program, everything was much better.

Hi, do not feel bad because you are not only. I am going thru the same time my family does not sustain the idea of this procedure either. I am scheduled for my surgery next month, which I will be going by myself and all the faith in God that everything will be okay. I can understand my kids not being happy with this procedure due the danger could have but at the same time they are not in my shoes to understand the pain I go through. I am positive that all my specialist and PCP doctor agree so I am willing to take the risk.
Telling you this because you have to pursue what your body and mind tell you. You are the only one can adjudicate in your success.

I think everyone is just different, Fluff. Best to try each new food one at a time and see how you do. I have no problems with any of the things you've listed, if that helps. That said, not much bothers me. I eat finely diced celery in my chicken salad now with no problem...which I should technically avoid....but my nutritionist said if I tolerate it well...it's healthy Fiber. Some folks do NOT tolerate fibrous foods, though, and it can mean pain for them. Go a little at a time and ease into new things.

Great start! (And, by the way, thank you for putting your starting weight in your post lest some 250 pound person begin lamenting because they didn't lose 44 pounds in 6 weeks.)
Keep up the good work. I started about 30 pounds above you, and I weigh 173 now (at 6'0"). It is a long journey, but so worth it.
    Best wishes!

So today its been abit more than 5 weeks since i got my sleeve. i did not take my weight before the surgery itself, but i did check it 2 weeks before. at that time i was 168 kg / 370 lbs.
the weight in my household has a max of 150kg / 330lbs. so whenever i used it in the last 2 years it just said "error" ( we used to laugh about that).
i tried to use it last week and still got the "error" but it was fine. i didnt expect to fly down in weight. today i had this feeling, and decided to try it. it said 148 kg / 326lbs. at first i tought it was a mistake. so i tried again. then i went to my workplace ( hospital) and used their vastly more advanced one. still said 148. talked to my doctor. i had done everything right.
so all in all great day. ive lost almost 20kg/44lbs in 6 weeks (counting from 2 weeks before surgery when i started 1k kcal a day). which is amazing!
My family wants to Celebrate so i think today, ill make my favorite purèe meal Tandoori chicken !
