    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Just checking in. Surgery was August 25. I was 202 at surgery, now 174. It's been slow going. Im on solid foods now, and working out, hoping to kick up the weight loss. I'd love to get rid of my tummy pooch! I hate it!! Anyway, I'm doing good, hope the rest of you are too!

    8/25/17 sleeve updates

My surgery was 8/25. I was 202 on surgery date, and have lost about 17 lbs so far. I'm concerned that I'm not losing fast enough.I start pureed foods on 9/23. Maybe I'm not getting enough water. I don't know. I start back to work on 9/25. I know I'll be getting a lot more movement then, and that will help speed things up.

My period was August 1-7, I got my IUD implanted at that point. Then I was okay until the 20th of August, when it started again. Surgery was the 25th. I thought at that time that it was just about over, but it hasn't ever ended. I'm now 3 weeks post op, and still having my period. Sometimes it's red, and watery, sometimes just a little spotty, I'd just like it to be over. I was thinking that I may be having worse than usual because of the heparin was injected with to keep me clot free during the couple days I was in hospital. I'm ready to be done. It's just a hassle, and I feel like a poorly wrapped roast in the meat department. ICK!! I feel your pain, and frustration ! Hang in there!
  4. I'm not a big banana fan either, but a friend gave me 2 of the banana cream, and rather than waste it, this made it not as ick to me. Chocolate is my favorite so far, and I think I'm going to try the Jello Sugar-free cheesecake flavor with the vanilla. That ought to be good : )
  5. On making protein pudding...I buy whatever sugar free flavor of store brand, or Jello brand pudding I like. Then I add the protein shake instead of milk, to the instant mix. A small box takes 2 cups of milk, so I use a full premier protein, and then the balance in non-fat milk, whisk it up, pop it into a container and into fridge for atleast 10 min. Overnight is better, as it gives a smoother texture. I've done Choc pudding with choc protein, vanilla pudding with banana cream protein, and vanilla with vanilla pudding I love the chocolate, and a little serving works wonders...YUM!
  6. I don't know if you are a Costco member, but I buy mine there, in the 18 pack. I usually buy Chocolate and Vanilla. It's about $25 for the 18, compared to about $8 for 4 here, in Seattle area, so a better deal. You can also use them to make sugar free jello pudding and such, so I really like them.

    Never ending period

HI ladies, I'm just checking in....my period is driving me crazy. It started July 31, then I got my IUD on August 1. Period ended about 7th. Started very light spotting around the 20th. Got heavier with darker flow, and I thought it was about over when I had my surgery on Aug 25. It got lighter again, and just when I thought it was gone, it was back, like it had never happened. It's been going on ever since. I don't know when this will ever end!!! If this is TMI, I'm sorry. I'm going to my post-op appt tomorrow and will ask my surgeon if he knows what's going on.
  9. Hello Citizens of  WWWL ! (Wonderful World of Weighing Less )

I just wanted to say HI. Today is probably the first day I've felt really emotionally powerful and happy since my surgery on 8/25. I feel like I'm finally finding my way out of one of those labyrinth mazes (outdoor, made of tall hedges, or a corn maze) I stepped into the maze on the 25th, and have been stumbling around running into deadends, and cut offs, and switchbacks with how much to eat or drink, how much exercise, will this $%&*# period ever end, etc.  Today I woke up and started my morning routine of Omeprazole and multivitamin, 3 oz of protein shake, and in a couple of hours, my calcium chew.

I feel like, except for my apparently never ending menstrual cycle of annoyance, life is finding an equilibrium. I can see a little further today! I wish you all a blessed day, and hope that you will find joy in whatever you choose to do!

    Hugs,

    That time of the month…

I too was concerned about this. I got an IUD implanted August 1, because dr said that the pill won't work after surgery. So, I was on my period then. That last a week. Then a week and half without period. Then about the 18th, it started again. I figured when I went in on the 25 for my surgery, it was just about over. Nope...came home and it's intensified, and still here!!! ANNOYING!!! I've been a little crampy, but mainly just annoyed!
  11. Walter, I've been thinking about you. I'm so glad you are doing well. I understand about the sore abs. It will get better fairly quick! Way to go!!! You totally have this under control!!!

  12. I'm just over a week out, but if you can find no takers, let me know. Thanks in advance!
  13. My surgeon and dietitian both recommended Bariatric Advantage products. I have 500mg Calcium Chews and a multi vitamin chewable. I also take BIotin, and omeprazole daily. I really like the products so far. They are a little pricey but nothing like yours. I am fully out of pocket for mine, as insurance will cover nothing it sees as OTC. https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/bariatric-advantage Good luck!!! I guess I should be taking a priobiotic daily as well.

    A whole new life

I have a question, and I'm having trouble finding the answer, but since people have the monthly loss thing, and tickers that seem to get updated, how do you update them? I'd like to update mine. I'm now 195, down from 198 a couple of days ago.

    A whole new life

Thanks very much to all of you. I was sitting here in tears, feeling so lonesome. Like I didn't fit in anywhere. You ladies helped me more than you know. You helped me to know that I'm not crazy!! I felt like I was! I wonder if Wilson would taste better than the broth at the hospital? I bet he would.
