I took 3 stool softeners daily and chewed up fiber gummies into tiny tiny pieces. I did this for the first 5 months. Now I don't need them anymore.

So I'm two weeks post op today and I went to my NUT today. I am watching everyone post how much they have lost after having their procedure on the same day as me and I have only lost a few pounds. She thinks I may be retaining fluids, but it's very discouraging. The past two weeks have been so difficult for me emotionally and physically. I am not feeling any energy to do much. After I do a little bit I need to lay back down. I am getting around 40-60g of Protein in, but definitely not nearly enough fluids. Anyone have the surgery and be two weeks out and really haven't lost anything?

I doubt it's anything wrong. But you should always run questions by your doc. It is possible you are consuming something that no longer agrees with you. Artificial sweetener and milk come to mind as common problem-makers.
What are you consuming?

Diarrhea should be taken seriously. You will become severely dehydrated quickly. You lose a lot of electrolytes also. If you don't get it under control quickly, call your doc.

I personally have had no issues, but two days after the surgery I was up 6 lbs vs being down. Now that I am 2 weeks post-op I am down 32 lbs. however my sister when she did hers 5 years ago would take all day to drink 8 oz of Water and 2 oz of liquid. She had to be on liquids only for 7 weeks because she wasn't tolerating much. She still say to this day it was all worth it. She has lost and maintained being down 150 lbs.

Thanks everyone for your responses. They were very helpful. Now thinking about the standing for long periods of time..I know that happened to me once while waiting for a concert to start (it sounds like I go all of the time lol), and actually walked out early because I started to feel nauseous and hot. I didn't have alcohol then since I was 2 months post-op, but I think of how I was then - combined with alcohol and a bit of salad for dinner..it must've been too much, causing me to pass out.
I think the best thing for me to do is stay away from alcohol for a bit anyway, but I'll be more cautious when I know I'm going to be in similar situations. Thanks again for everyone's input. And I believe someone asked which concert.. it was Marian Hill

Just got the call! Have to be in at 5:30 am extremely nervous, but also excited. Not sure how many friends and family I have that are actually in support of this and it's taken me many years to come to this decision along with this past year of getting clearances! All my drs can agree on seem to be this procedure! I truly hope I have no complication and that I am making the right choice. Thank you to this support groups for at least giving a safe place to voice my journey !

Thank you, I am going to need all the help and support I can get. What better way to get that support by great people sharing their experiences and supporting one another. I am excited!

My sleeve is tomorrow too! Freaking out a bit unfortunately. I've been craving pizza and mexican food. Do they make a pizza/burrito flavored Premier shake? If not, I smell a hole in the market.

Welcome I just started on here too but have been reading. My surgery is Wednesday very nervous and excited

I'm in same situation! I only have to do one week of liquid diet, but I don't know if it's from detoxing or if I'm allergic to something in the shakes but I have had constant stomach issues ...almost like the symptoms they describe with dumping but this is preop

Just going through the 2 week liguid diet. Only allowed 4 Protein Drinks and Water. Getting through it. As of today down to 229 from 240 in 8 days. It's been rough the last 2 with being hungry. Switched my drinks to strawberry and chocolate and made it with my bullet with ice to make it like a shake. It's very good and helps to make it slower to drink. Fighting the allergies with being tired and soar throat, just took tylenol allergy for it. Need to get some energy back. Going to get the Vitamins Monday before surgery on Wednesday. Legs and feet are starting to feel less swollen from the weight loss Wich is good for me, I retain water alot. My everyday and thoughts revolves around this new chapter in my life. Health issues and comfort food are my biggest issues. Always been able to loose weight before I hit 40, just can't fight against serious medical issues to even walk comfortably and two ankle/foot surgeries already. Another after the sleeve. Everyone has issues and that is why we are all here. Not to cure them all but to have tools to help our struggles how ever we can for better quality of life. I call my self a pear with legs! Small up top and bottom heavy...and it's not my waist. Thighs, hips and ass! Never will be proportioned. I'm ok with that. Just this body now keeps my physical activities very limited. Glad to be on here. Hope to learn, and support others. Here is to my last 5 days before a new chapter of being healthy and staying that way. It's my life!

I will be starting my 2 week pre-op diet, and I am wondering if anyone can give me product idea's that got you through it. I am just going to have a shelf to myself and probably hibernate in my room for 2 weeks out side of work. Want to reset my kitchen to make it as user friendly as possible!!!
