  1. Hey guys need some advice. Its been 2 weeks since my surgery and I've been feeling light headed a little. I try my best to get my protein and water. I haven't taken vitamins yet and maybe that's it or maybe because of the major changes to my body. I just feel weak and light headed sometimes. Is it normal? What can I do?:/
  2. Hey Tita, My surgery was on June 21. I'll tell you truth it is scary. I was excited right until they were wheeling me into the surgery room then I got extremely nervous. Then when I woke up I was in shock like what did I just do to my body. The pain was tolerable for me but to some people it's awful. You'll feel like you're going to throw up once you wake up and your stomach will be sore. Once I got home everything was so much better. No one was poking me with needles or waking me up at 3am to go for a walk. I can now say that I'm doing well. After that first week you should be better. I hope you have people that's supporting you and help you through this. I couldn't imagine going through this without my mom. If you don't have help, to take a shower I put a hair band around my neck and pinned the drain to it. It helped me. But I wish you luck and I'll say a prayer for you.
  3. Hii yes, my father came around. We don't really speak about it but he's helped me out by going shopping for me when I needed something. I think it's best to not bring it up though.
  4. Hi everyone, I had my doctors appointment today with my surgeon. I lost 10 pounds this week. I started off as 250lbs and now I'm 240lbs! And very happy I got the drain taken out! The surgeon said I can start my puréed diet Tuesday July 4th! I feel happy. Like that hard part is over. I'm walking everyday at my old high school track and doing well.

    Surgery tomorrow 6/29!!

Good Luck! It's been 1 weeks since my surgery. Just remember the reason why you're doing this. It helped me through tough moments when I had pain. And if you have no help taking showers, I put my hair band around my neck and pinned my drain to it and it helped taking showers! God bless you and I wish you the best of luck!
  6. Okay so yes very much in pain right now and dehydrated. But I'm doing really well. It honestly feels like I did a hard work out and my stomach is sore. The nurses are shocked at how well I'm walking around and say how it doesn't look like I had surgery. So that's good! I'm very blessed and happy everything went well! No regrets!

Okay phew good it's different for everyone. You have to drink then wait a half hour to eat right?

What helped you control your mood swings? Because I think I'm gonna have a hard time with that

My bad I accidentally sent that! But omg! I will definitely keep all of that in mind and try my best to keep my emotions together when I'm with my family and boyfriend! I didn't know about that. I heard about how little you drink and I've been so thirsty this week thinking about it!

First I'd like to thank everyone's responses to my first entry. I'm new to this but seeing everyone being so nice and supportive gets me emotional. Just 2 more days till my surgery. Very excited and nervous. I'm going to BJ's tonight to stack up and get prepared for these next couple weeks. Just so psyched to begin my journey and moving forward and never going back to feeling this way!
  11. Hi everyone, I'm new to this website and I wish I knew about this sooner. It would've been nice to have support. My mom's the one that told me about it. She has her own account and her user name is Ance. She spoke to many of you about how she's having a hard time with me getting surgery and I'm happy you've all made her understand more about it. I'm currently 20 years old and weigh 255lb. My sleeve surgery is this week on Wednesday, June 21. I've never been excited in my life. It's very hard sometimes because my father doesn't support me at all and tells me how disappointed he is with me and sometimes yells at me. I know he does it out of love but it really makes me want to cut him out of my life. I'm hoping afterwards he'll see I'm okay and healthier and be better. I also don't want to tell anyone in my family right now about surgery because of how judge mental they are. I wish I didn't have to tell anyone but maybe in a year or so I'll tell people. I just don't need negativity and hear how I took the "easy way out" when actually it's a tool to be healthier and happier.
