I didn't use medicine chips, but rather a "shot glass". Wal-Mart or any kitchen supply area should have a 1 oz measuring cup. (Wal-Mart is where I got mine). It will come in handy for cooking later on as well as helping with sipping now and post op.

After you have your surgery you will have a lot of gas pain the gas x strips will help a lot with that. Mira lax is going to be your friend that is going to get things moving once you are able to start eating food it is a horrible feeling to be constipated after surgery. Bottled Water and flavor packets to put in them if you don't like plain water, sugar free pudding cups, SF popsicles, cream Soups, yogurt, Protein Shakes ( i like premier ), any medicines you need filled get them filled ahead of time so you won't have to stand in line or wait on them after surgery, Vitamins, i got sugar free hard candy to suck on after surgery because my mouth stayed dry

I'm terrified of going in and my liver didn't shrink enough so I'll have to reschedule, my original date was april 26th but the surgery was rescheduled for June 7th bc something came up and he wouldn't be in the office. If you don't mine my asking, did they start surgery and see they couldn't do it or by ultrasound or something?

You need to have at least one without polish so they can check your oxygen level during surgery- they use one of your fingers/nail beds.

When I had gallbladder surgery they told me to remove mine. This time they said no polish but I have my natural nails now. If your hesitant to remove them call and ask. You don't want a surgery day surprise. My gut says remove them.

There are some people that have lost that low and lower.
It is just going to probably take you longer than a year.
I was 358 on the day of surgery and I am 187 ish, right now.
I'm hoping to hit 170 or 165 by the end of the year. I'm not sure if I really need to go that low before skin surgery, but I am going to try,

When I started looking into wls I was 38 bmi and needed two comorbities, which I have diabetes and recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. I am now at 40bmi. My question is does the 40bmi need to be documented for more than a year or does it not matter as long as you always been over 35bmi?

I've been on it for 4 weeks! Surgery the 30th two weeks with one meal two weeks with none I haven't cheated once. Why would you want to risk having to do this over again?

Hello everyone!! Originally from Southern California but now I live in Richmond, Virginia!

I am new...to all of this 😳
I have gone all the way through all of the pre requirements and have decided to get a second opinion as I can't decide if I would be suited for sleeve or gp (and I wasn't a super fan of the surgeon I met with)
But in the meantime, I am wanting to start experimenting with Protein Shakes and am curious if anyone has found any they like (or tolerate) and will be suitable for post surgery
