    Eating after surgery

I'm the same way. A few bites at a time throughout the day. It's weird because I feel like I have eaten way too much because sometimes I just eat 2 or 3 bites every couple of hours. It feels like I eat all the time on those days. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm currently waiting on the call for my band to sleeve revision date. Woop! Woop! I met with my nutritionist yesterday, and she said that they require patients to use the Bariatric Advantage shakes for the 10 day pre-op liquid diet. So I would like to get feed back on the best flavors please [emoji5] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Bariatric Advantage

I did, but the nutritionist said that it's a requirement for pre-op to drink the Bariatric Advantage shakes. She said that after surgery I can have the Premier Protein Shakes. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    September Surgery

  11. I had the band in June 2012, and started the process of band to Sleeve revision in April. In May, I had the EGD done and found out that my band has slipped. I was told that I had to lose 17 pounds before they would schedule my surgery, and I am having a REALLY hard time losing it. I'm trying.... I'm trying very hard actually, but it's just not coming off like I need it to. So far I have lost 9 1/2 pounds, and have 7 1/2 left to go. My next weigh in is the 21st, and I'm trying so hard to hit my goal so that they will schedule my surgery. I'm eating an average of 20 - 25 grams of carbs per day, and average of 1200 - 1300 calories per day, and trying to walk every day (I was just released last week from going to physical therapy twice a week for my back). ANY and ALL advice on how to hit my goal is VERY much appreciated!! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. I definitely need more veggies. I haven't had any fruit, juice, bread, pasta, or hardly even any dairy. I drink a lot of crystal light, but I do need to get more water in. I have 3 cups of coffee in the mornings, then crystal light the rest of the day, other than a protein shake for lunch. This weight just doesn't want to come off... 🙁 Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

The good, bad and the ugly. CARBS!

I'm new to this too, so don't take my word for it [emoji5] But I'm in the pre-op process, and am on a low carb diet. My nutritionist said that the net carbs are the amount of carbs minus fiber. And right now, for me, a carb is a carb is a carb..... good or bad. My daily limit per my doctor and nutritionist, is 45, but I usually average around 25 per day. I'm trying really hard to lose my required weight in order to get my surgery scheduled. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Love this post!!! I'm still waiting on my surgery date, but am soaking up all the wonderful advice from everyone! Congratulations on your success so far, and I wish you the best! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I am in the process of having the band to Sleeve revision surgery. It was discovered during my EGD the end of May that my band had slipped, and it is now medically necessary to remove it. My surgeon's rule is that if it is deemed medically necessary to remove the band, he only requires you to lose 6 pounds from your initial weight at your first visit with him. Well between my first visit with him, and my EGD, I gained 11 pounds from taking an anti inflammatory medication for my back. So that put me up to having to lose 17 pounds. Grr!!! So I immediately topped taking the medication that was causing me to gain weight, and started the low carb diet that my doctor put me on. From the end of May until July 7th, I lost a grand total of 4 pounds. So frustrating!!! Since then, I have restricted my carbs even more, watched my caloric intake, sodium intake, fat intake, and have been switching out one meal a day for a protein shake. Today I go for another weigh in, and to see the nutritionist, and I just know that I'm only going to have about a 3 pound loss, and I just don't understand why. I have been to my regular doctor and have had my thyroid checked, and all blood work done to see if there are any underlying issues, and there aren't any. I also spoke with my insurance company this morning, and my surgery has been approved! Yay!!! But.... there's a time limit on this approval, and it runs out October 17th. So I am hoping and PRAYING that my surgeon will bend his rule, and let me slide on the remaining 10 pounds..... 🙁🙁 Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Required weight loss before surgery

Liver Shrinking Diet - 45 grams of carbs

It is actually getting a lot easier carb wise. But I have noticed that my sodium intake is way too high, so I have to start working on that too... Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Hi everyone! I just started the "Liver Shrinking diet" prior to surgery. We are to have no more than 45 carbs per day, and I'm having a hard time with it. I keep thinking, if I can't do this, I am going to die for sure on the ten day liquid diet right before surgery! Any pointers anyone? Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. My doctor has me on a low carb diet because I have to lose 17 pounds before they will schedule me for surgery. I'm only on day 6, and really praying that I can drop these pounds quickly like so many others have. Good luck to everyone!!! Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Liver Shrinking Diet - 45 grams of carbs

I know what you mean.... I had to go grocery shopping today, and not just for myself. It sucks when you're the only one in the house that's on a strict diet. But like you said, we can do this [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app
