OMG!!! I am so excited and nervous for tomorrow. My pre-op diet wasn't the best/perfect but I did lose about 20-something pounds. Today is strictly liquids which I will be ok.

Any suggestions for today and tomorrow?!

Make sure the slippers have some sort of tread on them, you don't want smooth bottom slippers that may actually make you slip. That wouldn't be good at all.
We all went through the nervousness of pre-op. Stay positive.

Just try to keep a positive attitude. You can do this. It will get worse before it gets better but I promise it will get so much better. Take it one day at a time, and remember to walk, walk and walk some more. We will see you on the loser's bench very soon.

Great topic. Thanks for asking. I had my surgery one week today and so far I've lost 20 with the pre op. It just shocks me that 20 pounds are gone! My daughter says my face looks different already and I seem smaller. Wow. So on top of that:
    1. I have way more energy
    2. I am more clear headed
    3. I feel really really hungry all the time but I don;t want to eat. Weird huh? I think about food alot.
    4. I don't sleep as much
    5. I also dream of food! Cheesecake so far
    6. I don;t like when my 14 year old eats Kraft mac and cheese in front of me (my most fav food)
    7. I am really grumpy alot.
    8. I feel like my best friends (food and wine) moved far away and left me behind. But they were bad friends in the end and so they were doing it for me.
    The end
Love to hear more from others!

So, I'm two weeks out from surgery today, and I had to go to a relative's birthday....at the Cheesecake Factory!
But guess what? I ordered one egg scrambled, and a slice of avocado, and I survived! Woot! Woot!
It's not easy, but it's going to be SO worth it! I'm only down 10 lbs, but the scale is moving in the right direction. I'm so happy that this will be my last fat summer.
    We can do this, ya'll

I only told my mom, 2 brothers and 3 close friends. Everyone else will know that I incorporated diet and exercise, only if they ask. I agree, it is none of their business and sometimes people are too nosey

    Good luck with everything!

So these past few days I have been so anxious. I started my liquid diet, 5 shakes a day, on Sunday. I feel good, I have lost about 8lbs since I started. But I can't stop thinking about surgery and how my life will change and it is making me so anxious! I am just so excited to start this new chapter in my life. My brother was a diabetic and had VSG 2 years ago and he looks amazing and is now diabetes free. So I know this works and I can't wait to see my results and really be able to look back and see the transformation. I am so humbled that I have a great support system in place and they are in my corner rooting for me.

Angiesweigh reacted to LittleLizzieLilliput in 3 week stall
I'm here to tell you this is TOTALLY NORMAL! Rest easy folks, this is the magic of the allusive Metabolism. Oh man can it get bitchy too! lol!

So I've lost almost 200 lbs in 4 years. There are lots of times you will be doing everything right, exercise, eating, Water, Protein, sleep, etc. yet you will hit a pause. I hate calling it a stall because that implies the engine has stopped. It hasn't at all. In fact, it's working so hard it's decided it wants to slow down cause the body doesn't like to drop weight that fast.

But here's the trick. Keep measuring yourself. And this is the fun part:

Measure your head -because your head will probably lose weight too. Mine has. Though if you ask those that know me they will guess it was brains I was losing and not fat. ahaha!!
Measure your neck, upper arms, forearms, wrists, breast, rib cage, waist, wides part of the butt, hips, thighs and calfs.

Cause the things is we are doing a lot to our bodies and it is changing in ways it's hard to see. So measure yourself and then do it again in 2 weeks and 2 weeks and 2 weeks and so one. You will see that even when your weight doesn't drop your size is still changing.

I went through 8 weeks of not losing one single pound but I dropped 3 clothes sizes.
Last month I walked 12-15K steps a day, stuck to the protocol and and only lost 4 lbs the entire month. This month I've been slammed at work and got sick so I was only doing 5K steps a day and no stairs as I had a lung cold. Guess who dropped almost 20 lbs this month? lol! Yup.

So don't use the scale as your only beacon showing you your progress. Measure yourself as well. Also, the more you can move the more you should move. That was the other tell for me. "Oh! I can walk 1 mile in 17 minutes? How far can I go in 30???" or "OMG I can squat down and work on the project and then get back up and feel great!! I'm gonna squat and stand to do things as many times as I can!! This is so fun!" lol! i just love moving my body and the more I can move it the more I want to move it.

It's ok, I know this is a scary thing and pauses or stalls can really derail you - if you allow them to. But the scale is not your full story or journey so don't let it be your only tool to measure your success.

So I am 14 weeks Post op, and things are going great. However, I have had several stalls, which get discouraging. I will go 2-3 weeks and not lose a pound, and then drop 5 lbs in one week! So weird how the body works. When I am feeling disappointed in the slow weight loss, I do side by side photo comparisons of before and after. Here is one that lifted my spirits today. When you see yourself every day, you don't always see the huge changes that are taking place. Don't always count on the scale to show you your victories! Use photos and body measurements as well. You will need them at times when the scale is not moving.
