  1. DahYam!!!!! You look fantastic. I think you should be on that show 10 Years Younger or whatever it's called. I swear you look about 10-15 years younger.
  2. Woo hoo Lil! You're rockin' that band.
  3. You're very welcome. I haven't even had a chance to try it out yet myself but judging by the ingrediants it should be just like a regular brownie. I've been trying to cook up a healthy storm so I'm trying all kinds of new recipes.
  4. Me too. And it really pisses me off too. Even on my bad days I'm at about half of what I should be eating to lose 2 pounds a week at a completely inactive activity level. And I excercise almost daily - maybe not a lot but I burn usually 150-400 calories. Whaaaaaahhhh! Okay, whine sequence completed, moving on to productive/happy day cycle.
  5. Okay, I'm in again. I'm gonna shoot for 2.5 hours this week. Lord help me. I'm aching from the aerobics and shoulder work outs. LOL
  6. Yay Gibson! Glad you're joining us. I bought some 2lb weights today, we'll see how that goes. What is Walk Away the Pounds?
  7. Ouch! You feeling better? Wishing you lots of health.
  8. I'm right there with most of you. I'm trying to get rid of processed and pre-made foods from our house. Lots of fresh and organic fruits and veggies, lean meats and whole grains. Even though we have some real nice healthy grocery stores here I'm still paying about the same. I feel like it's much better for all of us though. We're not all the way there but we've definately made a lot of changes for the better. I do crave those crappy snack items at times but now I also find myself craving a mango or roasted veggies or grilled seafood and chicken.
  9. I'm sure your doctor will give you a fill. If you are losing weight slower and are hungry more often, that's a good indicator that you need a fill. 6-8 weeks post op seems to be the norm for a first fill. If he doesn't want to fill you, I'd ask why and what the port is for then. It's an adjustable band meant to be adjusted as needed. LOL
  10. Now, more than ever, I'd think you'd want to be good to yourself and do things to make you happy and healthy. The answer would be easy for me. Just 4 days after my surgery, my husband of 14 years was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. The stress didn't seem to effect me much except for a slightly longer healing time. Plus I was too distracted to think about food, another plus. Hope you feel better soon. Life is full of wonderful opportunities - this just might be one for you.
  11. Yay! I finished my 120 minutes with two extra minutes and the day isn't over yet. I've been doing aerobic and strength workouts from National Body Challenge. If you had asked me to do it 4 months ago I would have said no way can I do that. It's exciting to be getting back into shape even though I have a ways to go.
  12. Mariem - I had the exact same problem as you with them, only one doctor covered by my United Health Care insurance. I ended up using Banner Gateway Bariatrics. They did a great job of coordinating everything I needed to get the insurance approval. I know they have monthly information seminars but I'm not sure when the next one is. Their phone number is 480-543-2606 if you want to check them out.
  13. Bet that put a huge smile on your face. I know it put one on mine. Another NSV, congrats!
  14. Have to admit I was thrown too. I did google spag bol and it was spaghetti bolognese. Hope it was right. LOL I guessed the same as you on the other stuff too. Our metric conversion didn't go too well in the 70s.
  15. Holy moly. 720 minutes? I can't wait until that doesn't seem like a complete impossibility to me. Bet that's why you're doing so well with the weight loss too.
  16. WOO HOO! Water weight gone for good! That's so great to hear that it happened so fast.
  17. I'm going slow so far this week. I still need 53 mins to finish up my 2 hours. Should be able to do it this weekend though. How are you doing Ready?
  18. My fill is on June 10th too Peek. I'll be crossing my fingers for you too.
  19. I hear ya. I've been beating myself up fierce and then apologizing to myself profusely. Think I should send myself flowers? If I kill myself is battered woman syndrome still a defense. LOL sorry, got carried away there. And Lil, you're the one that got me to see that my drinking with my meals was probably my problem. I waited today, not perfectly but much better than before. And guess what? I was much less hungry today and so far it looks like I'll end the day at about 800-900 calories which is down from 1100-1200. Thank you!
  20. Sounds like part of what you're going through was the same thing that happened to me and probably most of us. I have a 14cc band and have no idea how much he put in at surgery time or the first fill. The second fill I got 1.5ccs and it could have been more cause it didn't feel that tight. After my first fill it seemed to last about a week and then it felt like it got very loose and I could swallow anything. I asked my surgeon if it was because you lose fat off of your stomach so it gets loose - answer was yep, that's exactly what happens. So some of that 45 pounds you lost was from your stomach itself and the band is just loose like a belt would be when you lose weight. Sounds like your doctor is very conservative. I'm sorry. Mine is kind of medium and I wish he was more aggressive. Oh well, I deal with what I have. Hope you can get yours to fill you faster and a bit larger fill.
  21. Yay Lil!!!! That's awesome news, 1 more pill gone forever! You're doing great. Now just chant to yourself "It's just water. It's just water." And know it's true. Plus you're doing the right thing to get it to release by drinking more so you're on your way to never having those pounds again. Yippee!!!!!
  22. Congrats on your entrance to Onederland!
  23. So glad to hear things are looking up for you and sounds like the revision wasn't too bad. Not sure how I missed this post the first time but it's good to know you're doing well.
  24. Thank you all. I really needed to see something like this this morning. It's been a struggle recently and I'm hungry all the time. My friend at work who's studying to be a nutritionist says it's cause my metabolism has changed. Yippee? Anyway, this was what I needed to hear to face the day with a "Can Do" attitude. Queen - you're the best. You're always there with encouragement and optimism for everyone. Thank you.
  25. That's how I do it too Ready. :wink2:
