  1. Looks like you and I are a couple years late on this thread but who cares right, we can just pick it back up. I'm going to mexico on 7/22/08 and i'm from windsor va. can't wait to be on your side of the bandster world.
  2. Hey BiggT, went through that part already now i'm just anxious, surgery date 7/22 just wish this next 6 days would hurry up and go by. Not that i can afford to lose 6 days at my age but i'm really ready to go. good luck to you.
  3. congrats, just wanted to wish you a sucessful journey:biggrin::eek::biggrin2::tongue_smilie::tt1:
  4. I go on 7/22, know what you mean about the pre-op i have two weeks. i'm 8 days in. I cook big old country dinners for my hubby every night as i settle in for a protein shake. and trust me it's hard, but getting easier as it goes, not quite as hungry as i was in the begining. but I just don't seem to be dropping any weight, just maintaining at this point. would love to lose about 15lbs before surgery. But at this point i don't see it happening so i'll just take what i get. good luck to you!
  5. I agree Juarez is a bad city, But i'm being picked up at the airport and staying in the hospital for 2 days and right back to the airport the hospital is only 10 minutes from the border so it's not like they just set you up in a hotel and leave you out there alone. It is a good idea to check out all aspects of your surgery.
  6. That's what I was thinking, I guess i'll be a slow loser but that's ok just as long as i'm a loser. Never thought i'd be proud to call myself a loser. but in this case i say it with pride. good luck to you.
  7. OK, I can't give up the make up or hair because i'm a retired hair dresser no matter what the weight, I beleave everyone feels better when they take the time to fix your hair and make up(if your a make up person) With that being said, Final straw- Hubby and I went on a romantic week-end and decided to go hoarse back ridding and have a picnic, got to the stable and they asked my weight(in front of hubby) and informed me they had a 225 weight limit, I weighting 252 at the time, was to BIG FOR THE HORSE , they did make an exception for me and found me one as big as a clydesdale. At that moment I knew this would not ever happen again. I was going to get healthy, lose the weight so I could do the things I love. next time I go i'm going to be so small they're going to offer me a pony. lol:biggrin:
  8. My surgery is 7/22 w/Dr.Rod, I went through Beliteweight, Jessica is walking me through it. There is another thread about Dr.Rod. I'll try to find it.
  9. Just a couple my doctor told me, chicken, fish, lean steak, tuna(in water) I'm sure if you search the threads you'll find alot of ideas. good luck.
  10. I'm from the same area, I couldn't find anything for less then 18 so i'm headed to mexico on 7/22 total cost 7000.00 +539.00 round trip air. after care will be with fill centers USA in va. bch. good luck finding what your looking for.
  11. Joiful, sorry you've been having such a hard time, hope it gets better for you soon. 13 lbs yea you! that's pretty good. hope to join you on that side of this journey soon, still 9 more days to go. just seems like it's taking forever to get here.
  12. Goober, glad your doing pretty good. I'm still struggling with this pre-op liquid diet, 6 days down 9 more to go. all respect to those of you that already did this part. Then 14 more days post-op, man! that's a long time with no food. oh i'm sorry i'm consentrating on the negitive again. anyway best wishes to all and hope your healing process goes by without a hitch.
  13. Hi everyone, i'm as my screen name says Kimaly, i'm 44 married to the best man ever(my oppinion) Have 3 grown children, boy 2 girls and have 3 beautiful grandchildren also boy 2 girls. I started getting heavy in my late 20's became obese by mid 30's my band date is 7/22 and I can't wait. I'm getting banded because i plan on seeing my great grandchildren someday. I'm a retired hair dresser and instructor, I now work part time for my husbands company doing payroll and sorts. He has a full time office manager, it just gets me out and gives me my own spending money. I'm going to mexico, because i'm paying out of pocket all at once. I'm a animal lover and have 4 dogs, 1 cat, 2 suger gliders, 1 bird, 2 geckos, fish, and hermit crabs that are about 5 years old. maybe not that exciting but it's my life and i truely love it. it's great getting to know everyone, good luck to all as we start our new journey!!
  14. Josh, glad to here your doing well. And congrats to all others.
  15. Hi all, This is an exciteing time for all of you. The count down! I'm a july butterfly, slowly watching my fellow butterflies take flight, waiting my turn. what are ya'll going to call yourselves?
  16. Now Now, No need to get ugly. when you start a thread you open yourself up to all types of opinions. some of us just think it's odd you would ask for swimsuit pics instead of just asking for updated pics if they want to send swimsuit pics then so be it nothing wrong with it I just think it's odd to dirrectly ask for them. can't you tell how much better someone looks even with clothes on? and what does a 9 yr old pic have to do with other peoples now pics? I grew up in va. bch, big resort area, just don't see the point of what someone else looks like in a swimsuit has to do with it. everyone is differant some will look great in one and others won't but bet they're all healthier. OH! that would be one hell of a reason to lose weight now wouldn't it?
  17. Here! Here! Thx Indiogirl 55, Well said.
  18. miss typed that one didn't I? it should say this is the oddest :confused2: once again
  19. I have to say thos os the oddest thread i've seen thus far. :confused2:
  20. our prayers are with your husband.
  21. orea15, Thx, you should be proud of yourself. i'm proud of you and i don't even know you. Isn't it amazing what can open our eyes and what we can do when we finely decide to do something. Way to go keep up the great work.
  22. orea 15, how did you lose so much weight pre-op? what type of diet are you on? did you have to do 6 mo. diet? sorry so many questions.
  23. I think we wait so long for it to become real when it does your mind just goes crazy for a little while. I'm much better this week. started my pre-op diet today, hubby had a steak baked potato with the fixins I had a protein shake, yep it's real. 15 days and counting. wish it would hurry up and get here.
  24. Good advise, I'm down with that.
  25. That sounds good to me, I was just saying what I was told, not Anesthesia, the gas they use to expand you so they have room to move your liver, anyway that was my understanding.
