Well ladies I have one for you, I had a breast lift 3 mo. ago and a tummy tuck 2 years ago. I don't get banded until 7-22-08 what was I thinking? I'll tell you, first I thought It wouldn't be bad if my tummy was flat then that wasn't it then I thought it must be my breast, all along it's been my weight but who wanted to admit that. Tummy tuck (love it) they made my breast to small don't know if I'll correct that later or not. doubtful. I just want to breath, move, and do things with my family without worrying if I'll fit or if the horse can hold me. yes, had that problem a couple of weeks ago. anyway a little backwards but i'll get there. :cursing:

I know you said you want jokes but it's hard to joke when someone tells you something like that. when we spend years abusing our bodies this is sometimes our fate and may have been so with or without the band. not saying you abused yours or anything but most over weight people haven't really eaten right and so fourth. I'm with wasa you need to have faith, Do not except this as a death sentence. fight it all the way ! there is alot of people here that care and will be here for you in anyway they can.

My surgery date is 7-22-08 so I am pre pre-op diet, the small bites and chewing so much is hard for me. but practice makes perfect so here I am 15 chews per nibble kinda reminds me of a hampster, didn't wanna say rat good luck to all !!!

I think your parents would want you to do whats best for you. I'm a parent of 3 grown children and all I ever want is for them to be happy.as far as your father goes sometimes that happens when one spouse loses another the other goes down hill. just be there for him best you can but don't put your life on hold I doubt he wants that. good luck hun, do you have sibblings that could help?

Lisa, the exercise is the hardest for me too. 15 mins and i'm worn out 45 are you kidding? I'm out of shape if I wasn't i wouldn't need the band, good luck

Hey DJ, your not to far from me, I'm in windsor. We go to yorktown to eat (of coarse) ribs at the county grill. Guess I won't go there any time soon. oh well, I'm only 3 days ahead of you and I have 100 lbs to lose. I'll let you know how the surgery goes.

I had a tummy tuck, before I decided to get lap band (go figure) I assumed the Doc would take care of that, but he didn't. So if you have one done make sure you talk to him or her about it.

Thanks Kiz, Nice to know people so close are in the same boat, I hate sailing alone (LOL) It makes it alot easier with people to talk to that have the same fears and hope that you do, Hubby is great, but think you just can't quite get it unless you've been there :incazzato:

I also am just a newbie, my date is 7/22/08 in juarez mexico. because I am a self pay and it's more affordable there. But I will help you anyway I can. This is a great website for any questions or concerns you might have, alot of good people willing to help and suport you if needed. They have eased my nerves a time or two.

I'm having surgery in Juarez Mexico with Dr.Rod on 7/22/08 I think it's a great alturnitive for self pay bandsters. anyone else having or had surgery in juarez? anyway, you will make the right decision when the time comes.only you know what feels right to you good luck!!

Ya'll have me a little worried, My date is 7/22/08. I'm flying from VA to Juarez Mexico by myself,I hate flying it really frightens me but i'm forcing myself because i'm ready to have my life back and take control again. But the thought of flying and getting around the airport while in the pain some of you decribe has my panic attacks kicking in. good luck to all!!!:thumbup:
