I am between 8-9 months out and a couple months ago, I'd not been as disciplined. I've been stalled or stuck in the same 5lb range for about 2months. For the last month, I've gotten back on track with what I eat and I've been killing it in the gym. Last week, id dropped 4lbs taking me to 222lbs. This week, I've been working just as hard and I've gained over 5lbs. Can someone shed some light. I'm trying really hard not to cry because it makes no sense.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You have lost a good amount of weight. Keep focusing on balancing out your nutrition and exercise and drink plenty of fluids.
Do you weigh daily? I had to stop doing that because i was frustrated at the "stalls".🌺

I am needing some constructive criticism on what I can do to improve my numbers on the scale. I am almost 6 weeks post vsg surgery and down about 30lbs. I know the song; I didn't put the weight on overnight so I can't expect to lose it all overnight..... I know that. I don't know why I am not losing like I should. The last 2 weeks the scale has not moved. I'm exercising about 3x a week at the gym, eating mainly Protein and still not losing. Any suggestions how I can get the scale to moving again. Also, will taking my Vitamin have a part in this too. I haven't taken any because the ones I got before surgery makes me sick now, so I'm waiting on my order to come in from another supplier.

your weight loss is fine. Most people lose 15-25 lbs the first month, then about 10-12 lbs a month thereafter (well, it drops again once you get six or seven months out). I'd only lost about 23 lbs when I was six weeks out, and I've lost all my excess weight - over 230 lbs altogether. So you are just fine.
as for not losing the last couple of weeks - you're in a stall. You'll experience them again and again on your journey. Just stick to your plan, and the stall will break

It all depends on your body structure. You may have thick muscle under the fat. Protein only strengthen the muscles. But you need. Your protein, so, you may have to double up on your cardio. I'm almost 4 weeks out, I lost 40lbs already with no exercise. But remember what I said first, it depends on your build and fat structure. Just stay on course, don't be discouraged, you will see the results you want.

I just talked to my nutritionist today and she said that is normal. I have fluctuated within the same pound for 2 weeks and today I'm 5 weeks PO.

Breakfast an oikos yogurt, snack a slice of cheese or cheese stick, lunch cottage cheese or tuna package, afternoon snack more cheese. dinner normally whatever meat I cook for the family for dinner, plus the veggies or just cottage cheese again. For instance if I make them burgers, I'll just have mine in a bowl with tomatoes, pickles, and ketchup, no roll. Protein Shakes to supplement if I'm short on Protein for the day. Actually she told me to stop taking my Calcium pills today as I was getting too much calcium. I have to keep track and not get too much calcium in or I'll get I think she said calcium deposits or something like that. One less pill I have to take work's for me [emoji4]

Yes, it can get very frustrating. Keep doing what we are supposed to do and it will all work out in the end. Peoples metabolisms are all different and everyones journey is different. Hopefully the slower loss will help with excess skin, lol.

Regarding easy weight gain with the sleeve, I am not big into carbs anyway. My routine diet is primarily Protein and veggies anyway. Granted I picked up the weight over years of really bad dietary choices. I just have a horrible time getting it off. My issue is quantity, pure and simple. I don't comprehend full.
I don't know who said this but..."How much Healthy Choice ice cream can you eat before it's no longer a healthy choice?"

Do you find that you just get pissed at everyone who is eating?? It's not that I want what they have, but I just want to grab my husband's plate and throw it at his head while I'm sipping on the same Protein Shake that I have had every day for 11 days! Bring on the flipping eggs!

I was sleeved 4/18 and I can totally relate to your experience of people eating around you. I just had family in for the weekend for my daughter's birthday and there was all sorts of food. And I had some serious regret!! But then I realized it is more the emotional connection of my brain to food with these experiences. I tried to go back to remembering why I did what I did... I still have moments where I miss my binge sessions, but then I remember I did this so that I could no longer have binge sessions! It's a transformation of body and mind for sure!

I was sleeved 4/13 and it has been a journey. My husband and son also eat in another room, away from me, since I got home. I feel left out because dinner was always our family time to talk about our day. I haven't walked much at all. I will probably start walking outdoors starting tomorrow along with starting stage 2. What a journey, thus far...

I waited at least two months to ensure stomach fully healed. Lots of kernels and tiny bits that can get stuck in the incision line.

I thought I read somewhere to be careful with breads bc they can get stuck or swell...it was something unpleasant. Just be careful with your new stomach.

Thank you... That's what my doctor stated as well, but I had never heard that. Every doctor is different I guess. However, a part of me would like to know for sure.

My surgeon uses gas in the stomach and Water in the abdomen to check the suture line before they close the incisions. I wouldn't have known that he did it, but I asked.

    I didn't have one.

Leak tests are usually only done if they have a suspicion there might be a leak.
