Yup! i have been obsessed with these discussion forums...excited...june 6 cannot come fast enough....i think i'm trying to overly prepare and i need to go sit down some where and relax....trying to get together with each of my close friends for one last hoorah!!!! before the eating and drinking come to a halt....i'm excited about the change to come...i'm excited to discover the new me... getting out and living my life instead of being embarrassed to be seen.... i have full faith in god and i pray he will keep his hands around me and guide me during this whole process...

I'm so excited, my surgery date was set today for 7/3/17 with Dr. Illan! I'm sure some are thinking, seriously around a holiday? Well I personally can't think of a better way to Celebrate Independence Day! A new day and a fresh start! I am also hopeful & excited to make some surgery buddies and share our progress. In 7 short weeks; although, in some ways it seems so far away, I will be recovering and on my way to the much smaller me. Woohoo!

Dr. Illan has a nutritionist that saw me briefly in the hospital and gave me a bag of goodies (mostly clear liquids), and a printout of the post op meal plan.
The plan was very easy to understand, and had a page for each week (up to 8 or 9 weeks post). There is a list of approved foods for the week, as well as a sample daily plan, including target food weights.
I was concerned pre-op by the 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup, etc. This plan does it much better: 2oz cottage cheese, etc. I found it easy to follow, as much as I wanted to follow, or make it my own (sticking to the approved foods list, of course).
I kept that paper in my purse for the first 2 months, reviewing it several times a week.

I'm here in tiquana....3rd dpo...everyone was wonderful to my mother and I....the most amazing hospital staff ever...way better than the states....never had service like this before...I would recommend dr illan to anyone!!!

Had my surgery on 5/20 with Dr. Illan. Had some gas pain but can attest to the fact that walking really helped! I feel great!

so i'm on my day 4 pre op...2nd day was the worst....was very irritable and moody.... day 3 it got better and day 4 i'm rocking it so far... my go to items so far are the 4 flavors of the Premier Protein drinks...caramel and vanilla are my favorite... i purchased from Amazon the variety pack of NECTOR Protein packets...fuzzy navel was delicious.... i also make chicken/ beef broth from the cubes....i like to keep it simple....if i get to complex i get over whelmed...... i do like to put my Protein Shakes on ice and in fancy glasses...hope this helps...this doesn't have to be to complicated

I am currently on Day 6, and your post sounded like something I could have written myself. There is certainly a lot of trial and error involved with this liquid diet phase. And I have had a lot of errors But it is doable. And satisfying too to see the scale beginning to go down. I have lost a total of 12lbs since I started. Hang in there! We can do this!

I am already excited and anxious for July 3rd to get here. You've reaffirmed my research and finally my gut instinct to go with Dr. Illan and everyone at Bariatric Pal MX!!!

I have to give a shout out to the valets working for Bariactric Pal MX. Today Juan took us to a great seafood restaurant that served shrimp broth. Well I don't eat shellfish and he had no way of knowing that. I was really ok with it because I wasn't even hungry and I told him I would just get some broth at the hotel.
Well a few hours later he calls me and says he is out and would pick me up some French onion broth from Caesars because he knew how much I liked it and he felt bad that i didn't like the shrimp broth. Now that is someone who truly cares about taking care of their patients. I have had such a great experience here and I want to let anyone know if they are still thinking about using Bariactric Pal, just do it, you won't be disappointed.
