  1. Hey Kristin. My husband and I have been trying for over 4 yrs. I went through 5 IUIS and an IVF. My highest weight was 320, and then went down to 275ish on my own I decided to go through gastric sleeve. I have PCOS and had polyps in my uterus. My surgeon told me as I lose the weight PCOS symptoms should decrease and fertility should increase, hopefully. Plus I would be a healthier mother for my child and little to no complications during pregnancy. Believe me I want a child more than anything I'm 32 yrs old and my surgeon says I shouldn't try again for 18 months so I will be 33 and half when I start again. Do not give up. I say go through the weight loss surgery, it will make thing easier and from there try again for that baby. My mom had me at 38 going on 39 and my sister at 41 going on 42 . I don't know if I will get pregnant in the end, but I know I will have done everything in my power to try and conceive. My husband and I are also putting money aside each month for adoption in case we choose that route. I want to be a mom more than anything. And trust me I know how hard it aches to want to be a mom. If you ever want to talk let me know. ♡. My email is lmpangburn41785@aol.com.

    Poop problems

Thanks everyone. I started up miralax and benefiber yesterday. Also did smooth move tea. Had the same problem again today, straining bad. I had to use a fleet suppository yesterday and today. And I found out the blood was the actually start of my period, which is now full force so that even makes things worse. I cannot even tell now if these cramps I am having are menstrual or poop cramps. It is so uncomfortable. I just want to poop normal. And my rectum/anus is so sore. I am seeing nutritionist shortly, maybe she can suggest something.
  3. Hey all going on my 4th week (Surgery was 03/27). In the beginning I had no urge to poop so starting April 7th was taking benafiber and miralax here and there. Since I started puree I had the urge more, but last night I ended up bleeding rectally. Not a ton but some. Today it got stuck, took a glycerine suppository and little more blood. I am very scared and don't know what to do. It is making me push a lot and so afraid of hemroids. Suggestions please.
  4. Erika- my friend is a little extreme and even at a yr out is at 600-800 calories now. My surgeon told me to focus on Protein now just going into.my 3rd week, but eventually 900-1200 calories a day would be an end goal. Nutritionists that specialize with bariatric patients help a ton. I saw one that goes with my insurance last week, and seeing one directly to do with my surgeon April 18th and she is open to questions from me anytime. Helped a ton so far. I personally don't know what I am doing yet (havent even had puree yet), but what my friend told me is to treat premiere Protein shakes as Meal Replacements, like Breakfast or lunch and then food protein rich at other times. But I have no idea. I am going to try weighing myself 2 times a week now, because I am getting discouraged due to a stall already [emoji20]. I hope by Friday I am down something. Fingers crossed. I also started taking measurements, because many say we lose inches over weight and not focus on scale as much.

    Regarding Bowel movements

I have been doing benafiber in my shakes daily and has helped. Still not the best poop, but if it feels like it isn't coming out and you are having trouble glycerine suppositories are like a miracle worker for me. Im on my 3rd week. Went for the first time Saturday and again tonight, so benafiber has to be helping a little. But like many say, it is like pebbles for me, not gigantic poops. I am on full liquids still and hear premiere protein can also bind you, and is the type of shake I am on.

    What is the recovery time?

I took 2 weeks and it ran into spring break, which is nice. I am a TA and move classroom to classroom. I get light headed spells so I am glad I took the extra time.
  7. Thank you everyone! Hearing these success stories definitely make me feel better. My new goal is to weigh myself 1-2 times a week and starting today I am taking measurements. I should have done that from the beginning! Thank you again!!
  8. My stages are clear liquids for a week, full liquids (1-2 weeks) depending on how you are doing (I am doing 2 weeks in case), then puree for a week, soft foods for a week, and week 6 you are on solid foods

    Regarding Bowel movements

Mine has been a lot longer. I have tried miralax, bensfiber in my shakes, and even a suppository on Saturday. Saturday was my first poop in like 2 weeks! I hear poop problems are the worst, but when we start transitioning to food it gets better. I am doing benafiber still and if I don't poop by Wednesday another suppository ugh. I am hoping this changes as I get into the puree stage on Saturday.
  10. Thank you guys. It feels great, not to feel so alone. And you are linasg we are in this for the long haul. I need to stop weighing myself everyday. It is driving me nuts. I am going to try for Mondays and Fridays for now and see how it goes . I start puree Saturday. Ahhhh.
  11. Hey, so my friend is super extreme strict. Instead of having premiere shakes as snacks she uses one to replace a meal like breakfast, lunch is a salad with no dressing or small amount of olive oil, snacks in betweem maybe a clemetine or a small protein bar, dinner is usually fish of "high quality" she says like blackened salmon with fresh spinach or sea bass and she will only eat about 4 ounces of the fish and a little of the veggie. Also does capers and asparagus depending on the meal. And a late night snack would be a few slices of cucumber. Lots of water throughout the day and if she gets tired of plain water she adds crystal light. She is like carb free. She walks and does the elliptical sometimrs, but not crazy exercise. She is to the extreme with a lot. I feel you are doing amazing and I pray to become as light as you one day and have a baby too ♡
  12. Oh man, it sounds like you are doing all the right things. I hope it isnt PCOs related. I have PCOs too and my surgeon usually symptoms decrease as you lose weight. One of the biggest reasons of me doing the sleeve is to eventually be able to get pregnant, along with getting healthy. My starting was 285 and down to 249. My presurgical weight loss was 20 lbs on shakes for 2 weeks. Now going into my 3rd week after surgery an extra 16 lbs down, but yesterday went up a lb and maintaining today. It is scaring crap out of me. I'd die to be 189 lol. My goal is 170 at the moment, but just to get below 200 would be a dream. What does your surgeon say? I hear some people lose very little some months and then all of a sudden woosh it come off. I hope it is true for the both of us. I am not in this for 36 lbs. I am in this for over 100 lbs. I do also notice the lighter we start not as much weight flies off us. Like for me I lost 36 lbs so far but was much bigger than my friend who only lost 20 lbs at this pt. (PS this friend is now 130 lbs down 254 lbs, now 124 in a yr) so don't give up!!! My other friend was 309 and weight flew off her so much faster than me. So I guess the lower we get the harder it is. For my height at 5'4 I should be around 130 also, but I will be so so happy if and when I make below the 200 mark. Talk to your surgeon and see what he says. Might have suggestions. Hang in there. ♡
  13. Thanks guys! So hard to weigh myself everyday. I am just going to try weighing myself mondays and possibly fridays. I am tryig to get as much protein in as possible. Want to give up

I am in same bind right now! I had a melt down this morning. Including the 2 week presurgical diet I am down 36 lbs (16 lbs after surgery) I am going onto week 3 post surgicial and gained 1 lb saturday and maintained today. It is so effin frustrating. Im following full liquids to a T and did 15,000 steps yesterday but no budge. I was losing steady before this. I want to lose at least 80 more lbs. And my hunger is coming back. Havent felt that till now!
  15. Hey guys, having bit of a melt down so just need some words of advice. My starting weight on March 13th was 285. I went through a 2 week presurgicial diet, where I dropped 20 lbs. Monday March 27th I had my gastric sleeve surgery done at 265 lbs. I was losing steadily down to 248.8 lbs. That was my Friday weight. Then my surgeon told me to take some miralax, which I did plus some benafiber and even ended up doing a suppository and pooped a little Saturday morning. But my weight went up to 249.4. I was like wtf. Then yesterday I ended up walking 15,000 steps and getting in some water and 2.5 premiere protein shakes (In my full liquids phase). I am the EFFING same weight today. I am driving myself nuts. A few baris said their weight loss was down steady for a few months. I am at 2 weeks and up 1 lb maintaining. I know I sound crazy, but this is the first "gain" I seen on the scale and it is barely at the 2 week mark. Am I doing something wrong? Or am I just nuts? Thanks inadvance
