My surgery was 7/31, so I am almost 5 weeks post-op. I am at the soft food stage. Some things, like Greek yogurt, I can eat almost 4 oz. meats, "real food" I can eat a few bites, up to 2 oz on lucky days. My NUT wants only 3 meals per day with no snacking, am to fill up with Water or Protein Drinks. I consume maybe 500 cal on good days. Am hoping it gets better.

I'm going to disagree, respectfully. I'm eating 1200 cal per day, In the gym busting butt for an hour a day 6days a week, plus walking a lunchtime mile everyday at work. On the weekend, I'm hiking with my family and generally active. I achieve 12,000 to 24,000 steps a day. My calorie burn is 2900 - 3500 everyday. I have lost 4lbs since July 23. Something more complicated than "basic math" is at play here.

I have lived the past 10 years of my life hearing about "other" people having WLS, but never even entertained the thought of having it myself. I was used to my life and how I looked. I hated how I looked. It had affected my psyche, to the point of finally getting depressed. Well let me tell you, I am still very young in my head even though my age is 61, but my confidence and my inner persona was like shi*, where have I been?
A year ago, I "found myself" (finally), and contacted my PCP. She put in a consult with an endocrinologist. Best thing that ever happened to me. I worked very hard mentally, did the meds, ate right (sometimes) talked to dietitians, etc. etc. I googled everything about WLS and when I went to YouTube, viola!. I saw videos of patients, success stories, failures and actual surgeons performing the procedures in an operating room. Way to cool. I want the sleeve!
I am a veteran so I choose to use the Kansas City VA Hospital. To make a long story short, they are paying a private surgeon of my choice to sleeve me. I still had a few things to conquer, psychology testing, heart, lungs, blood work, blah, blah, blah. After passing all the required testing, I was given the OK, and I will never forget that feeling. My surgeon recently gave me a date (Sept. 18th), and I start my 2 week pre-op on the 4th. The adrenaline, butterfly's and fireworks are going nuts now. The closer I get the more the reality of it sets in. Everyday is better than the last, because I am one day closer to being sleeved. The reality is awesome and I feel your excitement. So much deserved congratulations to you and enjoy life to the fullest !!!!!!!!

I just got my date today!!! June 13!!!! So excited!!!

Im June 20th

Mine is June 28th!

I am May 8th as it is a revision from lapband to gastric bypass. The insurance approved in 72 hours ! Surgery on Monday!! I am happy I have had so many complications.

I'm June 2nd. Tomorrow is my endoscopy which is my final clearance and then all I have left is ultrasound at the surgeon's office and pre-op testing. I'm so excited/anxious/nervous.

June 13th for me too very excited!!

June is when I'm hoping it happens for me as well. Still have just a few more things to do, but quitting smoking, the NUT appt and the psych are the main ones still to do. Quitting smoking has been HARD!!!!!!!

Yay! That's great! The way things are shaping up, I should have a June date as well!!

Or a June 2017 Facebook group? I feel like the groups out there are so diverse from those in pre-op to many, many years post op. I'd rather hear from people more in my timeframe. Or at least summer 2017.
