I had just turned 46 and my wife is 43 when we were banded on 9/12/07 and 9/19/07. I Had been thinking about gastric bypass over 5 years but when I heard about the band I felt that this was the best for both of us. Glad we both got the band. Wish we both could have gotten the band when it first came out. Chris

Sorry to here about this set back. Did the doctor say why he will not fill out the form? Is it because you lost a lot of weight or what? Hard to image that he would have you go through all this and not approved. Is this your regular doctor or the lapband doctor? Have you tried to get back in and sit down and talk to him and explain how you feel about this and all the money, time, enegery and effort you have spent with this hole process. If you need any help we could start a letter campaign and hope that he will send it in for you. Chris

Dave: Do you have the fill done in the office or do they do it under x-ray? I wonder if you are still to tight. With the x-ray they can tell if you have to much reflux etc. That is what my doctor looks for when he does the fills. Chris

I would take a look at what you have paid out of pocket for the last few years and go from there. Also keep in mind you can purchase Over-the-counter stuff, eye glasses, anything that insurance does not cover in regrds to medical exp. How much is your ded etc. All your drug co-pays are covered here. We went to the doctor before thankgivings and I gained a couple of pounds but the doctors office did not record the last weigh in when I had the first fill since it was not done at the office. We both had a fill today. I got 1 cc so now Iam up to 2 cc. I hope that this will last a lot longer than the first one. She got 1 cc also. She is up to 3 cc. So will see what happens now. on liquids today, soft foods on Tuesday and regular on Wed. We go back on Jan 7th, 08 and might get a fill the following week. Our doctor wants us on liquids the first day of fills and the mushiees and by the third back to regular foods. After a week on the first fill I had no restriction. He said this time you should really notice it more and it should last longer. Chris

I can do work in tight spaces that I could not before. My pants fall off with no belt on. I can run up satirs and not have breathing problems. Chris

Thats great to here. It took my wife and I less than 30 days. I was approved first within a week and then the wife was approved after we sent in a another from her OBGYN. and had surgery in less than 3 weeks. Chris

It would nice to have it approved real quickly.A lot will depend on how fast they can get all the stuff together and sent in. I would talk to the doctors office. Also see if you can have them fax or offer to pay to have the stuff overnighted to the insurance company. Get a person who can approved it. There will be a lot of people going on Vacation for a couple of weeks right about that time. Also what has the doctors office said, is the doctor going to be on vacation? Maybe it would be better to plan to do it right after first of the year unless you have all ready meet your ded or have a lot of expenses. Just a thought. Good luck with it. SOunds like you are doing just fine. I will agree that when you fill full and then your hungery right after. I seem to have that a lot. I think that has to do what it was like before we had surgery in regards to eating and feeling hungery. I would double check with you doctor. Also I can forward you an article that talks about fills and what to expect if you would like. Chris

My wife and I sure need a 2nd fill. We are hoping to get it another one the Monday after Thanksgiving. After the first week with fill # 1 I was ready for a fill # 2. Not sure how much will get the 2nd round will ask for a lot. Chris
