  1. I have been trying to get the lapband surgery done for a while now. I lost my job and had to get on Illinois Medicaid (Family Health Network). Is there another plan that I should pick that will help me get approved faster? What doctor do you suggest? I live in the south suburbs of Chicago. Thanks!!! Kim
  2. Hubby lost job and insurance! Oh well. He got a new job the very next day, but won't be eligible for benefits until 90 days. Oddly enough it's Aetna so I'll be starting this process ALL OVER AGAIN! Yuck!
  3. I finally was able to start my road to be a bander and my husband was fired on Tuesday. He got hired at another place right away the next day. Oddly enough they also have Aetna, but he won't qualify for the insurance for 90 days. We find out how much Cobra will be next week....I'm sure it'll be too much. Oh well, I guess I'll have to start all over in 90 days.
  4. DON'T GIVE UP! Call Tony. He'll help you get it done!
  5. I was told for my eating habits and weight that bypass would be the best choice. Unfortunetly, my husband won't go for it. He says I can have lap-band only, and I'm cool with that. Maybe it was due to your weight and eating habits as well.
  6. Lonestar, please let us know when you get approved. I'm curious to see how long it takes.
  7. Where you able to sleep in a foreign bed? My doctor says he believes I have sleep apnea and I have to have the same sleep test, but I have a hard time sleeping in a foreign place without my husband, including hotels. Do they give you something to help you sleep?
  8. Your Bariatric Coordinator needs to get on her job then. Why is she even submitting it if she thinks you have no hope. Do you have any co-morbilities? Do you snore?
  9. CONGRATS!!! I have the same insurance and I just started my 12-weeks. I hope it goes as smoothly as yours did!
  10. I have Aetna and my supervised diet is 3 months. I have to pay a $15 co pay for the 3 dr. visits and $150 total for 3 dietician visits. The lab work and stress test is included. Why do you have to pay so much?
  11. I am going through Dr. Cahill at Little Company of Mary in Evergreen Park. They are very helpful, knowledgable and work hard to get it done for you. Their website is Little Company of Mary - Meet the Team; South Chicago; Evergreen Park Illinois IL. Their phone number is 708-229-5969 or 1-866-540-LCMH (5264) . Hope that helps! :ranger: Kim
  12. With the 12 week dietician study, what isAetna looking for? Substantial weight loss or what? Will they deny you if you lose a lot of weight? What's the deal?
  13. Sending you good vibes!!! Please keep us posted on how it goes!!! :ranger: Kim
  14. Thanks alot! Your post really helped me understand the process. I'm very excited!!!!
  15. Why did they deny you?
