BrightEyes77375 got a reaction from bigjoe1234 in How has your life changed for the better?
I have only lost 66 pounds so far. My surgery was on March 8 so I'm 4 months out. I agree with all of the positives previously posted, but I have a few that weren't:
I can now reach to wipe my bottom after a BM easily (it was a real problem before). My feet and hips don't hurt. I can tie my shoes easily. I can get out of bed or a low chair with no problem. Looking forward to posting again soon with more positives as the weight continues to drop off!

Well, I had gastric sleeve surgery on March 8, 2017, and I don't have any energy either. I can eat a small amount of fish and some vegetables if they are very soft. I'm taking my Vitamins and I, too, have problems drinking enough Water. I was hoping it would get better as time passed, but you are still dealing with these problems a year after surgery! My prayers are with you and I hope you find a doctor that can give you some good advice. Please share what you learn!

After my RNY gastric bypass surgery, I found that softer foods such as chili and Soups went down much easier than harder foods such as steaks. So this is what I relied upon. I made my own high Protein chili and soups. I have included recipes at the end of the following article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf

Do you like fish? try a baked white fish. Swai is really soft when you bake it. I have a recipe in the recipe section and that is pretty much all I ate the first 3 months.

I am trying to wean myself off of the Protein Shakes and onto more solid foods to get the required Protein. Any ideas on high protein foods to replace the shakes? I had my surgery one month ago so I can eat soft foods. My surgeon encourages eating rather than drinking protein at this stage to get metabolism to kick in. Eating meat gives me stomach pain unless it's pureed and most meats taste yucky pureed. I have bought some baby food meats but they are only 8 grams of protein. Appreciate your replies!

I am looking for good walking shoes. My feet hurt so bad, it makes walking painful. Does anyone have any suggestions on types or brands of walking shoes to buy?

Just an FYI ... I'm 5 days post op with the sleeve. Everything is going well. I just wanted to share what my friend shared with me about getting your drinks paid for through your insurance.
Didn't know if it would go through or not but it did!! I signed up online at Insure Nutrition, gave them my insurance information (make sure it's your prescription plan info) and they did all the work for me. They verified my insurance, contacted my Doctor for the prescription and a week later I received my first shipment!!
You all may already know about this but I didn't and I honestly couldn't have been more surprised that it was approved and had no copay!! My drinks were actually delivered a week before my surgery do they were ready for me!
They also do liquid supplements but my doctor has me on chewable Flintstones lol so I'm doing those instead.
    Oh and I'm doing premier chocolate.< /p>

Get rid of the chocolates! All of the work, changes and sacrifices you have made, yet you don't want to hurt his feelings! I think you need to asses your priorities. YOU SHOULD COME FIRST! Though he may not have all the "details" of your surgery, is he that ignorant not to hear your comments and requests before hand? And when asked to say it was stupid; No, he he was stupid!

Let him see you trashing them, it will show that you mean what you say. If he has a problem with it, that's his problem to deal with.

You darling have to put yourself first and you are the one that went through surgery and it's your responsibility to be selfish now and make sure your new self is respected, don't feel bad and take them into work or to friends and just say to him that it would take you ages to get through them as they make you sick unfortunately! Next time a card and a cuddle will be a wonderful gift, and say if you continue to bring me chocolates I have no choice but to give them away, I would remind him everyday once a day that you cannot eat chocolates till he gets sick of hear it, it's your health don't accept that behaviour.
    Hugs
