  1. I have only lost 66 pounds so far. My surgery was on March 8 so I'm 4 months out. I agree with all of the positives previously posted, but I have a few that weren't: I can now reach to wipe my bottom after a BM easily (it was a real problem before). My feet and hips don't hurt. I can tie my shoes easily. I can get out of bed or a low chair with no problem. Looking forward to posting again soon with more positives as the weight continues to drop off!

    No energy, no motivation

Well, I had gastric sleeve surgery on March 8, 2017, and I don't have any energy either. I can eat a small amount of fish and some vegetables if they are very soft. I'm taking my vitamins and I, too, have problems drinking enough water. I was hoping it would get better as time passed, but you are still dealing with these problems a year after surgery! My prayers are with you and I hope you find a doctor that can give you some good advice. Please share what you learn!

    The first 100 days

Wow! You look great! What are you going for exercise and how are your energy levels?

    March 8th Sleever!

Hello! I had the surgery on March 8, 2017, too. Glad to finally get off the liquid diet and have started on soft foods. My high weight was 284 lbs. in January. When I went in for surgery on March 8, I weighed 261 lbs. I weighed in at 241 lbs. this morning (April 15). How's your energy level? Have you been walking yet?

    Surgery 3/8/17

You have lost a lot of weight in a short time! My top weight was 284 lb. In January, I went on Atkin's Diet and then the liquid pre-op diet before my surgery on March 8, 2017. I weighed 261 on the day of my surgery. I now weigh 241. My weight is coming off slowly (3-4 pounds a week). I haven't started walking yet. Only excuses are that I have absolutely zero energy and my feet hurt. I'm looking for shoes with decent support to walk in, but the lack of energy is what bothers me. How are you doing on energy and exercise?

    Anyone else with Myasthenia Gravis?

I had my gastric sleeve surgery on March 8. I don't have MG but my niece does. I just wanted to tell you good luck on your weight loss journey and to take good care of yourself.

Need list of high protein foods

Thank you for replying. What Greek yogurt brand do you recommend?
  8. I am trying to wean myself off of the protein shakes and onto more solid foods to get the required protein. Any ideas on high protein foods to replace the shakes? I had my surgery one month ago so I can eat soft foods. My surgeon encourages eating rather than drinking protein at this stage to get metabolism to kick in. Eating meat gives me stomach pain unless it's pureed and most meats taste yucky pureed. I have bought some baby food meats but they are only 8 grams of protein. Appreciate your replies!

    Healthy beverages besides water.

Isn't Crystal Light high in sodium? Should that be a concern?

    NSV

I am looking for good walking shoes. My feet hurt so bad, it makes walking painful. Does anyone have any suggestions on types or brands of walking shoes to buy?

    Acid Indigestion

When you refer to acid indigestion, does it feel like the hard, dull pain you would feel when a pill got stuck in your throat going down? That's what I'm feeling with certain food (anything besides pudding, yogurt, or soup). The pain I'm having isn't a burning sensation, but the type I've just described. Should I try taking something for acid indigestion?

    Terible pain when eating

Where do I find the app that Teacupnosaucer mentioned? I, too, experience the pain when I eat too fast (which is a life long habit that I'm really aware of now).

    Feeling kind of betrayed

Okay. I just finished reading her next post where it clarified that she had not told him she had weight loss surgery before he bought the Valentine chocolates. Sorry for jumping to conclusions before having all the facts! My surgery was just 9 days ago (gastric sleeve) and I'm feeling irritable (not hungry but mourning the taste of foods that caused my weight gain in the first place). Just started eating pureed foods and can't eat more than 2 ounces without my stomach hurting. I have a "First Bite" class to go to at my surgeon's office tomorrow. I'm assuming it's with their nutritionist. Hopefully I'll get some help with what and how much to eat so my stomach won't hurt. Please keep me in your prayers.

    Feeling kind of betrayed

You are right to feel betrayed! Either he is very young and inexperienced in relationships or he is very self-centered. You deserve the unfailing support of everyone who cares about you after going through this type of life style change. I don't think this guy is a keeper. Just saying...
