May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
I had that exact problem yesterday. I chose to hydrate. I think I was functioning on a negative calorie deficit before dinner based on how much energy I was expanding. I ended up with 600 calories for the day, but I probably burned 300+ with all I did. This experience will have me thinking twice about working that hard outside in the heat of the day. In the future I will plan projects like this early or later in the day.

May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I was so busy I don't feel like I had 2 days off..lol... we took Malaya home around 9:30 and have been working hard all day. My dh decided to power wash the siding on the house. While he was doing that I did household chores then I decided it would be a good idea to go by some more flowers to plant in the yard. I just finished up outside and I am beat. so no lentils today. We are gonna have something easy, probably an omelette. I realized just how easy it is to overheat now when working outside. We can't hydrate quickly enough. I had to take several breaks just to cool off and focus on getting fluids in. I hope you all had a good Sunday!!

6 weeks out and already stalling -
You should not be depressed at all. Your weight loss is great. I will be 6 weeks tomorrow and I have lost about 22 myself. I started at 208 so we are very close with our stats. I have dropped a whole size down and my clothes are feeling lose again already. I bet you are losing inches. Are your clothes fitting loosely?

That burger looked yummy @Newme17. I grilled some chicken tonight in between chasing Malaya around. That girl can crawl fast. I need to childproof my house and quick. I made my dh some yellow rice tonight at his request. I ate two bites. It was delicious, but I can't bring that back into my menu. A taste once in a great while won't kill me though. I have to learn to cook things I am not gonna eat and tonight was a good test. I finally got the little one to sleep. Babies always look like peaceful angles when their asleep ?.

Food scales
I think it awesome that this forum has veteran members that can share that there are many different ways to be successful after WLS. The decision on how anyone newly post-op will proceed is ultimately up to them. I think certain personalities lend themselves to being more structured and others not so much. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. I do think we all have to figure out what is going to work well and help us to be successful. If something isn't working change it up and see if doing something different works better.

Eating schedule?
I am never hungry in the morning and at first I was forcing myself to eat. What I do now is just eat lunch earlier. My schedule looks like this breakfast- 6:30-7:30 on my commute to work. Coffee. Lunch-11:00-11:30- usually leftovers always protein. Snack-3:30-4-30 on my commute home a protein shake or cheese stick ect Dinner- 6:30-7:30 always protein and veggies Snack- only if I am hungry always protein. This is just a general schedule. Life happens and we need to adjust. I don't feel very hungry on some days and I have to remember to eat, other days I do feel hunger. It definitely takes some getting used to.

It sounds like you are getting enough. I slept 8 hours last night? I feel almost like I got too much sleep. Well I will need it today. I'm picking up my granddaughter in a little while and she is so close to walking now. I will need my energy to keep up with her. Have a great Saturday everyone!

How many Carbs a day ?
Sugar is already included in the Total carbs, as is fiber. That is why you subtract the fiber. You don't add the sugar back, that would be counting it twice.

5 days post-op
I drank a lot of homemade broths the first week post op. Most people do not meet their protein goal the first week. Just do the best you can. There are clear protein drinks you can buy. Isopure is one brand. I didn't like them, but some people do. Things will definitely get better once you are able to eat puréed foods. Hang in there.

Not my bum, but my lower back has been hurting the past week or so. I think my posture is changing or something.

How many Carbs a day ?
I am averaging between 15-25g net carbs daily. Net carbs are total carbs minus the fiber. Many people do well on a low carb keto diet. I get most of my daily carbs from vegetables and the rest from dairy.

Food scales
I use an inexpensive digital scale I got at Walmart. I am from the camp that weighs and logs their food. I feel like this is the best way for me to be accountable and I want to have this data. I was lousy with portion control and by weighing my food I don't have to worry about over eating. I personally don't trust myself to be able to moderate portions without this tool. Maybe a year or two from now portion sizes will be easy and I won't need to do this as much, but for now it is piece of mind. Not everyone needs or wants to do this. People should figure out what works for them and then stick with it. This is not a diet to me. It is a lifestyle change and the scale and food logs are just tools, like the sleeve, to help me be successful.

Here is my fajitas with home made guacamole. I wanted to try the healthy tortilla. I ended up only eating a couple bites. It was good, but it would have filled my sleeve up too quick. I was only able to eat half of the filling.
