  1. So I'm 7 weeks today & am battling nausea and the deep hunger pangs that I know are acid. I vomited last night after taking iron pill. No pain or anything else just the nausea, smelling foods can set it off also. I estimate my calories intake has been below 400 each day. I've been working hard to get liquids and protein. Today I've had 30 g of protein and few bites of egg salad & 17ounce of water.
  2. I suggest YouTube search folks who are 1-10 years post op and you will see that it's a huge difference in the amount you can eat 10dpo. I'm 7 weeks & hqvw no appetite. I make sure I take my gummy multi & biotin though haha. My biggest concerns have been about long term studies & possible complications
  3. It's a sobering fact that kids may not outlive their parents. The obesity rates are very high due to all the processed food & imo kids don't get out like they use to. My parents kept us outside playing.
  4. Seems like it's pretty much the same just 15% of what is what before. thx for this!
  5. Random thought, how does our digestive process change after vsg?
  6. This is all normal I'm 7 weeks out today and still battle the occasional wth did I do? BUT I just remember that the boils , out of breath feeling & borderline type 2 diabetes just WAS not healthy. Thinga will get better
  7. I exhausted all options before getting wls, true for 5 years and just gained and got bigger. It's non reversible and I think it's normal to feel like what if I would've coulda shoulda? For me, had I not gone through with it, I'd be regretting it right now.

  9. And to that I say best of luck to you! you have your mind made up & sound confident in your decision. I look forward to your journey!
  10. Just want to add that before my surgery my bmi was 48 or 49 because I'm 4"11 it's now down to 43 after 7 weeks.
  11. I would also suggest watching YouTube videos of people who have had the procedure done. Are you able to stick to the strict pill regimine after the procedure? I saw a lady who had the ds and she ended up in the hospital from malnourishment several times AND she was on her vitamins. Not to say other WLS procedures don't carry risks, but the DS is extreme. I second possibly getting a second opinion.
  12. Congrats on your journey! Hope all is well. And people will assume no matter what, ya only live once & im loving my decision:)
  13. This was one the driving forces in my decision. I began having fertility issues & was nearly prediabetic (sugar was 98) while fasting. Best of luck!
  14. What? So what did previous surgeon do? Did he simply perform procedure incorrectly? I would definitely be speaking with him.
  15. Well I'm 4"11 and six weeks out. Down 31-32 pds. Heaviest weight was 230-235ish. Good luck
  16. @bostongal1012 I understand your view but with women it's so different. Nothing but judgement and claiming WLS was the easy way out, and ONLY a fool would say that. The stigma should be broken by now but it's not. I got so much flack from my last job due to losing weight on my own & I refuSe I give people that ability to chirp like birds about me, again.
  17. I couldn't quote last thing you said but you are so right! Oh my god! Definitely going to start using that. It's literally nobody's business! You need to be motivational speaker haha.
  18. I'm no expert but I can say that when I had my procedure, I felt slot of pulling, burning from the stitches that were placed inside and it subsided after a few weeks. Also I do not think a second opinion would hurt. I hope you find relief and get answers soon.
  19. Hahaha! Yes to the resting b**** face! I think for me being so early out and not being able to eat more than a few bites has raised suspicion but it's none of their concern & im not concerned lol.
  20. Is the pain near an incision site?
  21. Well I actually just heard a staff say a lady looks sick because she hasn't lost a ton of weight lol. Damned if ya do damned if ya don't!
  22. Today was my first encounter with someone asking me this. I was at work & just rambling about weight loss & how many ounces an average stomach can hold. Then out of the blue, a coworker asked me the dreaded question that I was hopeful I could avoid. DID YOU HAVE THE LAPBAND???‍♀️ Now I had already prepared myself for when this question that I was avoiding was asked, but I had to step back & really ask myself 1. Do I fess up? 2. Ask them how is this of pertinence to them? 3. Do I lie? Oh oh my goodness, the only response I could muster was "Maby I did, maby I didn't". I don't know why I even give two damns about others opinions but maby it stems from the last journey I had trying to shred the EL ?. People at my previous job accused me of starving myself & I feel people generally have a negative view in regards to bariatric surgery. Just had had to share for those who kept it a secret. P.S I eat lunch with coworkers and sometimes in my office but it's been hard to hide why I eat the way I do. I won't be the first nor the last to undergo WLS. We should be proud of our decisions & yet should still maintain secrecy if we CHOOSE.
  23. I just read that during first 6 months stomach can hold 1-2ounces, 6 months it can hold 4-6 and at 1 year and beyond it can hold 6-8 ounces. If we were to only eat a few bites of food long term it would be catastrophic to our health and we would be malnourished, the early restriction is great for rapid weight loss in he beginning. Like commenter above me, size doesn't matter as much as what we put in our mouth. Hope this helps.
  24. I needed a reminder as to why I made this decision!
