VSG or RNY?
I decided on the sleeve because I thought it was less invasive compared to RNY, I also wanted a slow and steady weight loss to prevent complications associated with rapid weight loss, and theirs little chance of vitamin deficiency! With the sleeve, it's a tool to help you reach your goals but if you are not committed it will not work

3 months post op.
Honestly, you should be eating more! For me, if I was restricted to 500 cals for the rest of my life I wouldn't be happy because that's not enough to sustain a healthy life. I look fwd to eating a normal and healthy 1100-1300 per day.

Lady Tee, are you only intaking soups and water? I honestly hate the way water taste now. I have to dilute it. I'm drinking at least 30-40oz or water or liquids and a protein drink as of yesterday each day is better. I don't get heartburn but I do burp alot

Read BEFORE Gastric Balloon for one persons review
I'm glad I read this! I thought maby this could've worked for me but at "4'11" 230 pds I was morbidly obese and was feeling the comorbidities creeping up on me! I'm glad I got the sleeve though it's "surgery" the risks are low and I went back to work 8 days afterwards. I'm 25 yo and plan to live and see my kids kids

Yeah my doc says it's normal because they placed a stitch in main incision area and also pulled out 75% of stomach from there. I went back to work yesterday and wore spams and placed a cloth towel over the area and it helps . Today I will likely get in about 60g of protein as it's only 1pm me I've already done 30, each day gets easier?

I stopped weighing myself because I was starting get scared at how rapid it was falling off last week. I've done SOOOOOO much better yesterday and today with getting in my protein. I've already downed 30g of protein today and nearly a 17oz bottle of water/juice My concern is losing to fast and having gallbladder problems, lol. Other than my main incision pain, I feel like my old self!

Surviving the 3 week post op liquid diet.
Good morning! I too struggled wondering how I could survive on pure liquids for 14 days BUT low and behold each day has gotten easier for me! Yesterday I got in so much liquid and 30g protein drink I I'll be moving to puréed Monday. My go "snack" has been sugar free popsickles chopped in up with about an ounce of water and crushed ice, my pouch has no issues with it & I usually have that two times a day now.
-
why no soda??
I was never a soda person maby three or four per year & it would have to be flat because the carbonation would make my eyes super watery and cause flacuance.
