  1. I had my sleeve done with Dr Illan on April 21st. Everything was very well organised. The people were great, start to finish. I really enjoyed my stay at the hospital! They checked on me around the clock...every hour or two. I felt well taken care of. The surgery itself was over without any problems and everything happened so fast I didn't have much time to worry, which I liked. My husband had a good time with the valets and he met some other "companion husbands" to go eat with. I am 25 lbs down from my starting weight of 250...which I am happy with. Everything has healed up nicely and I am moving along on my diet plan well. No problems and I am very happy with my choice. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

  5. I am 3 1/2 weeks out and I can drink water really fast now. I was worried at first because I thought I didn't have proper restriction but liquids work differently than solids I have a lot of restriction with things like eggs and fish no restriction with water and broth. You may find that it actually gets really easy to drink...each person is different. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. Wow...would you mind sharing what your diet is like? Did you lift weights at the gym? Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. I found relief alternating between Bactine spray and Neosporin. Seemed to help a lot with healing too. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Looking great! I hope I can do as well as you have...good work! Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. About 8 years ago I lost 60 lbs on medifast(gained it all back plus some, eventually), which is essentially 6 very small meals a day, totaling about 800-900 cals a day. The way I eat now is similar, it just isn't medifast...though I do have some medifast meals. So I just say I am eating like medifast, just not using all medifast. No one questions it because several people in my family have done medifast. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. You may want to be cautious and have the Dr. move your date out. I'm sure they could do that if you let them know right away. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Call the local office that accepts applications and ask them about expediting your application. It can be done in weeks, if need be. Ask them what you need. If you need a new birth certificate, that can be usually be done in one day. Start today...it can be done! Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. One thing to consider after taking antibiotics(during or after surgery), is to take good probiotics to add good bacteria back into your system. I use Bio-kult and Prescript-Assist(both found on amazon), which together give a very wide range of probiotics. Healthy bacteria promote a healthy gut and healthy regularity. I started taking them as soon as I was done with the antibiotics that were prescribed and that is when I stopped having weird and urgent poops. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I'm 16 days post op. Since coming home from the hospital, I've pretty steadily been keeping between 800-900 cals with at least 70 grams of protein and at least 64 Oz of water. Seems to be about right as I've been able to meet my 10,000 steps per day since about day 7 post op and have a good amount of energy. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I've seen several people use hernia repair surgery as a cover. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

  16. This is outrageous! Please keep us updated with the outcome. I can't believe it. So aweful! Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. If it is because the texture is too thick, you can add just a bit of water and stir it well. It turns out to be just like regular yogurt consistency. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Please share what you've been doing for diet and exercise. You've done so well! Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I had VSG with Dr Illan on April 21st and I could not have asked for a better experience. I am 10 days out now and feeling great! He is the one to consider, for sure. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

  21. I have found some relief by alternating Bactine spray and Neosporin every 6 hours or so. Seems to be helping the healing too. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. How would you describe your "honeymoon phase"? Was it that you couldn't get in very many calories, so weight was dropping? Or was it that you were losing well at 800-1000 or more calories? What was your experience in the begging months/year, and why so you think the honeymoon is over? Or did it ever end for you? Did you have one? Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. I am experiencing the same thing. I am one week out and I can get at least 64oz of water and my full liquids, no problem. I was concerned at first but I hear it is normal and that solids will be different. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. I have been using the multi, B12, iron, vitamin d, omega, sleep and biotin with no problems so far Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
