  1. How would you describe your "honeymoon phase"? Was it that you couldn't get in very many calories, so weight was dropping? Or was it that you were losing well at 800-1000 or more calories? What was your experience in the begging months/year, and why so you think the honeymoon is over? Or did it ever end for you? Did you have one? Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I had runny stools until I went to full liquids and incorporated two different probiotics and benefiber. No more diarrhea after that. Both probiotics can be bought on amazon: Bio Kult and Prescript-Assist. Together they contain a wide range of healthy bacteria Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I like pacific with a little bouillon added...it was just what I needed after surgery. I also really like the Adkins lift clear drinks because they have 20 grams of protein and taste pretty good. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

  5. Great list! The only thing I would add is GasX strips. Event though the majority of gas is not actually in the GI tract, the strips helped with some gas that was in the GI tract. I thought it did help me some. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Cooking for kids again

I have been cooking for my family all along because I am the only one who cooks and I have to say, it really was hard at first! I would actually get all grumpy, especially if I was hungry myself...almost like a little panicky. But now that I recognize how I was feeling, I make sure to eat a little something before or while cooking. I don't cook on an empty stomach if it's food I won't be eating! 8. I think the book The Beck Diet Solution by Judith Beck was previously suggested my OutsideMatchInside...she is a real inspiration, so I picked it up for Audiable. It is cognitive behavioral therapy focused, and that it exactly what I needed. It's awesome! Also, if you aren't easily offended, the book Never Binge Again by Glenn Livingston, is a quick read that puts the CBT techniques into an immediately usable context with very powerful imagry. It might not be right for someone who is very emotionally sensitive about their weight but it was exactly the kind of tough love I was looking for. It is free on Amazon Kindle right now. Dates that don't revolve around food

Maybe it is time to talk with a professional that specializes in relationships. They could take a look at your communications, past relationships, expectations, etc. And make some suggestions of things you could do differently. It can be hard to look within for answers but may get you closer to connecting with someone in a meaningful way. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery in Mexico

Please look into Dr Illan with bariatricpal. I had mine done on April 21st and it was the best decision I could have made! I am thrilled. There are many testimonials to be seen in the Mexico & Self Pay forum...look in the General Weight loss forum to find it. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. My husband and I were so impressed with Juan and the other valets (I have a hard time with names and after surgery it was impossibe!) I so wish I could remember the other valets name because he was equally amazing! I also have to mention Robert, though. Robert drove us to and from the airport and I really enjoyed hanging out with him. On our way home, we had some time to kill, so he actually hung out with us on the aircraft carrier that is docked in San Diego, now a museum. Most drivers would just wait in the car on their phone but he was so friendly and personable. I will never forget the kindness I recieved...I never felt like just a number to anyone. I would do it all again. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

Dates that don't revolve around food

Maybe not a first date but more like a third date....escape room. I flippin love escape rooms. It is a problem solving situation and it can really show a lot about how a person thinks and how they work under pressure. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

  15. This is the closest thing I could find to a support group. The last post talks about a group that meets quarterly. https://www.bariatricpal.com/index.php?/topic/303025-OR---Portland Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Also wanted to add, my Dr allowed egg drop soup in the full liquid phase. That was like heaven at the time. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. Bone broth is a great choice because it has a pretty good amount of protein. Fred Meyer and Whole foods have Pacific brand. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. I know this is an old post but I thought I would chime in and say hi to the other Portland Oregon people! My surgery date was April 21st and so far I've lost 23 lbs...Very happy! I am wondering if anyone knows of a local support group. The one on meetup.com seems totally dead. Their last meetup was in September. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery in Mexico

https://www.bariatricpal.com/index.php?/topic/396280-Which-Surgeon?#entry4457025 I had my sleeve done with Dr Illan on April 21st. Everything was very well organised. The people were great, start to finish. I really enjoyed my stay at the hospital! They checked on me around the c...... Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. I agree...this may be his way of showing support and trying to help you be successful. Personally, I asked my husband to help me stay in check and this seems similar to some of the things he does to help. I know ultimately it is all up to me but having him give me a nudge in the right direction gets me thinking and sometimes helps me make even better choices. One thing you could try is telling him, in a very straightforward way, exactly what kind of support you want and what really makes you feel support from him. That way he doesn't have to guess what you want and accidentally show his support in a way that doesn't translate to what you need. Tell him what he CAN do to be helpful. Examples: "It really makes me feel loved and supported when you compliment me or notice how hard I've been working" or " When you point out a positive change in me, I find it very motivating" Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

You are so welcome. There are a couple VSG groups on myfitnesspal that are really great. I friended quite a few people from the groups and I have really enjoyed following them and looking at their food logs. Also, I got a fitbit and friended some of the VSGers so we can do challenges together. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app

Not saying this is the case, but if your messages sound generic and don't contain anything to let the woman know that you read her profile, it's very likely that the message will be ignored. I don't know if this applies...just a thought. Sent from my SM-G900T using BariatricPal mobile app
