  1. I had my sleeve surgery 3 years ago tomorrow, total loss is in the 160's. I didn't wake up one morning and just feel amazing, what it was more like for me was noticing little things that were no longer a hassle as I went day by day. Getting on the floor to play with the dogs, vacuuming, standing to wash dishes for a longer period of time. Realizing the new things I could do crept up on me more. I'll also say that I had to build up some strength as I was loosing weight too. I didn't realize how much proper posture would hurt as I taught my new body to use different muscles. It'll be a very exciting journey, enjoy it moment by moment as you discover all the new things you'll be able to accomplish.

    January Sleevers Check-In

I had my appointment with the surgeon and I received my blood work results since. The surgeon was happy with the weight loss so far and explained that I should still be between 80g - 100g of protein and 800 - 1000 calories in order to still loose weight. The blood work from my GP came back okay as well. I have another 19 panel test coming up in August, so that should have more detail. I'm assuming that between the meals and the Optisource Vitamin twice a day things are taken care of. Over all I seem to just be concerned over nothing at all. I am about 80g protein / 30g carb / and 40ish fat staying around 800 calories.
  3. When I started DDP Yoga, I hadn't either. I would say that this isn't traditional yoga, it really is more geared to upping your heart rate and helping with staying in a fat burning zone. The package I got was about 6 disc's and the very first one is an introduction to some common posing that will happen. The next couple video's are where I spend most of my time, one is 20 minutes and the other I add to it (on occasion) is another 10 minutes. To me, it seems like he's more there to explain how to make it work for you and not there to tell you how it has to be done. Which, after watching some other video's, was nice. YouTube probably has some examples and the website is getting better and better. I haven't signed up for the subscription, but it's been lingering in the back of my mind for the recipes and additions workouts. Pre-surgery, it helped me loose 30 pounds. But then Thanksgiving happened... and then Christmas... and then...
  4. The DDP Yoga DVD's have been great for indoor exercise and I really appreciate the modifications being done along with normal and advanced all at the same time.
  5. It looks like you and I are very close on many accounts. I am getting the same impressions from my surgeon and I didn't get much in the way of the nutritionist either. There is a January sleeve group I just posted in asking some of the same questions you are, you aren't alone at all. I've had the same stalls for a week or more, questioned what I can do better, what I should do more of, how should I be eating different. The big step is reaching out and looking for help. Keep asking questions, keep learning more! I'm hoping that on my June 5th appointment I can talk face to face with people instead of back and forth through email. I'll make sure I keep in touch with what feedback I get.

    Anyone get new ink?

I have an appointment in June for a new one on my arm, unrelated to the surgery but totally related to family and refusing to grow up.

    January Sleevers Check-In

Hello! As time is going on, I'm starting to question what I should be aiming for with my meals now that it's about 6 months since the surgery. My concerns are: 1) Can I be eating too much protein? 2) Should I be eating a bigger variety in order to get more from food and less from supplements? The last thing mentioned in the book from the doctor was 80 - 100g of protein a day. I've been hitting that range and at times going over with meals. I've been taking Optisource (post bariatric surgery) Supplements twice a day to get what I might not be getting with meals. I'm still dropping weight at what I think is a good pace, I'm getting out for walks, bicycle rides, etc. I just want to make sure that I'm eating right. Went through all of this, might as well keep on the right path. I have my 6 month visit in two weeks, so I'll be talking to the doctor about it. Anyone else that has wondered what meals should be like and gotten some answers?

I started adding True Lemon to my water just to change things up a bit. No artificial sweeteners was a big deal to me, they just don't taste right. There is True Orange and Lime as well. 100 packets for about $20USD on Amazon.

    Do portion sizes get bigger

My surgery was at the end of January and I'm eating around 4 oz of food in a meal. There are some foods that disagree with me and make me sick (just learned that yesterday with smoked turkey). Usually though, if I'm chewing enough and waiting enough between bites, things go well. I think LittleLizzieLilliput is on track, this is something that should be a call to your surgeon.

I'm still dancing around the 50 pound line. The scale taunts me, knowing how much I look forward to seeing that number and actually passing it up. I've really noticed the cold more as well, I never thought about it being related to the surgery. It's good to hear that I can stop wondering about it. Thanks!

Sleeve on 1/25 and down 42.7, still in disbelief. Started at 360, never thought I'd be this close to under 300 again.

    Driving after surgery

I was asked to hold off for seven days. Didn't have an issue driving once I started.
  14. I'm three days away from puree myself. I'm jumping right to blender chili. I can't wait! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Failure

I'm am so tired of fake sugar it drives me crazy. My shakes turned into iced coffee and a couple scoops of the powder protien. I can mentally handle that much better. The thought of soup, yogurt and milk makes me ill. It's all about baby steps and one thing at a time from what I can tell so far. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
