  1. Congratulations on your surgery. You are not alone. I was just like you. I was back to normal and pain free 3 days after surgery. I was walking in the treadmill and doing Zumba 2 weeks post op. Food never bothered me and I never felt that full feeling either but I did make sure the measure everything. I am now 3 mi the post op and I feel the restriction a bit more and the only thing I can't eat are eggs, which I was good with at the beginning. I've lost almost 50 pounds so far and feel great. I makes sure I track everything I put in my mouth and measure everything.

What did you tell your young kids?

I have an 8 year old and a 3 year old. My 8 year old know. I was honest with him and told him I was having surgery on my stomach so that I can lose weight and be healthy. He has seen me always dieting and working out and he knows how much I've struggled. We've never used the word fat or made it about looks. When we've discussed it it's been all about losing the weight to be healthy and have more energy to do more things together. With my 3 year it was easy, I didn't say anything because he doesn't understand but when I came home I did show him my stomach so he could see I had a "booboo" and therefore he would have to be gentle and I explained I couldn't pick him up for a while.

    Work

I was off for 2 weeks because of the holidays but I would have been fine going back after 1 week. I also have a desk job.

    Surgery 12/19/16

That's great congrats! My surgery was two days after yours and I've only lost 35 lbs. yes I know 35 is still good but I see that so many people have lost more. If you don't mind me asking, can you share what you topically eat, hoe many calories, carbs and protein you eat daily and what your start weight was? Thank you in advance

    Wow restrictions

Im 8 weeks post op, at first I had no problem with eggs, actually had one every morning. As of 2 weeks ago I can't eat them anymore [emoji17]. I've tried cooking them in different ways but nop...pouch not happy. I'll wait a few more weeks and try again.

I love coffee but not for the caffeine in it but because if the flavour. Since surgery I've switched to decaf

    Help! Hopelessly tired!

I was told that I should be drinking the shakes until I'm at least 6 months out and even then may have to depending on how much protein I'm able to eat. I was however told to not use the shakes as a meal but a snack. I usually have breakfast, lunch and dinner and split my shake in half for two snacks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Thank you for shearing! I'm only 2 months post op and I can see how easy it could be to slack, especially with vitamins. I was having a hard time with my vitamins so I switched to the patches and so far I love them. You may want to give them a try Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When can I eat a salad?

I'm 6 weeks out and I've started eating salad. I don't eat too much of it because I focus on Protein first and usually I'm full with that but I am trying to get some veggies to help with fibre. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. For those of you who take it, do you take in the morning or evening? Does it make a difference? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. FFS. Makes me feel like punching every single skinny person I know hahaha ❤️❤️❤️ Made me want to punch my mother out when she said this. But I obviously didn't because I know she has no filter. Instead, I'm going to prove her wrong. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
