  2. Congratulations on your surgery. You are not alone. I was just like you. I was back to normal and pain free 3 days after surgery. I was walking in the treadmill and doing Zumba 2 weeks post op. Food never bothered me and I never felt that full feeling either but I did make sure the measure everything. I am now 3 mi the post op and I feel the restriction a bit more and the only thing I can't eat are eggs, which I was good with at the beginning. I've lost almost 50 pounds so far and feel great. I makes sure I track everything I put in my mouth and measure everything.

What did you tell your young kids?

I have an 8 year old and a 3 year old. My 8 year old know. I was honest with him and told him I was having surgery on my stomach so that I can lose weight and be healthy. He has seen me always dieting and working out and he knows how much I've struggled. We've never used the word fat or made it about looks. When we've discussed it it's been all about losing the weight to be healthy and have more energy to do more things together. With my 3 year it was easy, I didn't say anything because he doesn't understand but when I came home I did show him my stomach so he could see I had a "booboo" and therefore he would have to be gentle and I explained I couldn't pick him up for a while.

    Surgery 12/19/16

That's great congrats! My surgery was two days after yours and I've only lost 35 lbs. yes I know 35 is still good but I see that so many people have lost more. If you don't mind me asking, can you share what you topically eat, hoe many calories, carbs and protein you eat daily and what your start weight was? Thank you in advance

    Help! Hopelessly tired!

I was told that I should be drinking the shakes until I'm at least 6 months out and even then may have to depending on how much protein I'm able to eat. I was however told to not use the shakes as a meal but a snack. I usually have breakfast, lunch and dinner and split my shake in half for two snacks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Thank you for shearing! I'm only 2 months post op and I can see how easy it could be to slack, especially with vitamins. I was having a hard time with my vitamins so I switched to the patches and so far I love them. You may want to give them a try Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When can I eat a salad?

I'm 6 weeks out and I've started eating salad. I don't eat too much of it because I focus on Protein first and usually I'm full with that but I am trying to get some veggies to help with fibre. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. For those of you who take it, do you take in the morning or evening? Does it make a difference? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Yes, I know I know....stalls happen and I should keep on doing what I'm doing. But I just need to vent. I'm 5 weeks post op and for the past 4 days I've gained and lost the same 1/2 pound. THIS SUCKS! Thanks you for letting me vent Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Starving 6/7 days post op

Is it actual stomach hunger or head hunger? I'm never physically hungry but always mentally hungry. I struggle with this daily so this is what I do. I plan my meals the night before, note them on my fitness tracker and set a timer for my Breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 Snacks. When my timer goes off I eat. I only eat when it goes off and the foods I planned the night before. If in between I get "hungry" I ask myself if it's my stomach or if it's my head. Every single time it's been my head. I know it's not easy, be strong Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Barrie Ontario Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I'm in Ontario too! Who was your surgeon? Im 5 weeks post op and also feel and felt amazing. Everything I've eaten has been good. I still don't get hungry or that full sensation which is why I make sure I measure everything and time my meals so that I don't forget to eat. My surgery was dec 21st and I. New Year's Day I ate some turkey and had no problems. I find that I can also get through a meal faster then most but I still try and take my time and chew chew chew. 24. I'm 5 weeks out and just started taking benefiber every morning. Since starting these I've been extremely gassy in the evenings with stomach cramping. Are you taking anything different then before? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm five weeks out and I've had no issues at all. I can eat anything, chicken, stake, eggs. I do measure everything and stick to the quantities I was given. Am I stuffed? No, but I do feel satisfied and never get the actual feeling that I'm hungry. I preplan my meals and time then si whether I'm hungry or not I eat when I'm supposed to. It's strange how you don't hear of many people who have no issues, usually those who post are the ones that have some sort of problem. I had actually posted a very similar question in a different forum and was pretty much told off because I was able to eat meat at 4 weeks with no problem. Lol. My Nutritionist said I was doing great and to just focus on getting my Protein up. She said not to worry about calories because at this point it's physically impossible for us to have too many calories, unless of course we are eating ice cream and bagels all day. Good luck!!
