  1. Put some 100% Lavender Essential oils on incisions, helps with healing, relieves itching and reduces scarring.
  2. I started 2 days before my surgery, it was weirdly light after surgery. My next one after surgery came 4 days early and was horrendously heavy. But I had little to no cramping.
  3. I am also using Lose It, it's easy to navigate
  4. I felt the exact same way. I'm almost 4 weeks post op, and at the same point you are I was really discouraged. Especially when I was able to start puréed food (1 week post op). I felt the the tiny amount I was eating was keeping me from losing. But I stuck with it and my doctors instructions and the weight is coming off now. Good luck to you and hang in there it will get better soon!
  5. I started swallowing 2 vitamins 1 week after surgery.
  6. Every policy can vary greatly. I'm in Texas, most policies vary depending on employer. Your employer discusses details that it does or doesn't not want for their employees. I had first appt. with Bariatric surgeon on Jan. 12th and was sleeved Feb. 28th.
  7. I had sleep apnea, and they only required one nutrition class
  8. I have UH and it took 3 days for approval
  9. My doctor said no alcohol for a year
  10. Tremendous help and encouragement nonnilynn!! I also was sleeved Feb. 28th, I have been really frustrated with my weight loss. I felt like I was doing something wrong but your comment makes perfect sense!
  11. I was in the middle of my cycle when I had surgery. They said no tampon, but let me keep my panties and pad on during surgery. They did ask to make sure I had cotton panties on, not nylon or spandex.
  12. Baby food has been my goto. Refried beans, mashed cauliflower, yogurt.
  13. I am in the same situation as you, I was really losing until I was able to start puréed food. I feel horrible when I eat because I'm so scared to gain more weight.
  14. Hi Risa900! It will get better every day!! My doc said I don't need protein shakes, thank goodness! The protein shakes killed my stomach before surgery and after. I'm on puréed now and she said to get my protein from beans, since they have protein and fiber. They push a Mediterranean diet, so fruits veggies and fish. Good luck to you!
  15. I guess you can I went on a binge, I made a list of all the things I really like and will never eat again. And I ate what was on my list, after eating I was like okay I'm done with that. Pretty much at peace with my food funerals. Everyone copes differently and I feel it was something I needed to do. I had a 2 week preop liquid diet and was fine with that. I am now 1 week post-op and down 25 pounds. Good luck, do what feels right!!
  16. I am having this problem too. I was sleeved on Feb. 28th and even the smallest sip causes immediate cramping followed by lots of burping. Where is this air in my tummy coming from?
  17. How are my Feb. 28th sleevers?
  18. Congrats! I had mine today the 28th, minimal pain that has been well controlled getting my water in and walked a bunch. Walking helps tremendously with getting trapped gas out!! Good luck to you!!
  19. For those of you from the south....I'm getting sleeved tomorrow ironically on Fat Tuesday!! Anyone else getting sleeved tomorrow the 28th?
  20. I do not have IBS but my protein shakes on preop have destroyed my gut
  21. I am using Isopure Zero carbs, no sugar banana cream and also vanilla. It's the best protein I've ever had and it works for preop diet
  22. Good luck to you!! I hope the next few days fly by, my surgery is the 28th.
  23. I don't think they would stop surgery if your BMI dropped. I think whatever they submitted to insurance will be what they go by. Don't sweat it!!
  24. People just don't understand how much all this extra weight affects daily life.
