On Monday I was 5 weeks post op. I am officially down 27lbs since my appt for surgery clearance and 21lbs down since the night before surgery. Reason I say I'm frustrated is i lost majority of this weight by 2 week post op. Now for the past 3 since I'm able to eat food I notice that my weight isn't coming off and if so it's super slow. I just got the ok to resume a regular diet and ok'd to start going to the gym. Hoping that with increasing my exercising that the weight will start peeling off again.

has anyone else struggled with plateauing and if so did it last this long for you. I have been stuck at 188.9-191.

Exercising probably won't make the weight fall off, especially since exercise inflames your muscles and makes you retain Water.

I'm at the same weight as you, the only different is I have lost a lot of weight to get here.

The lower your weight, the slower the weight comes off. You are not going to see the huge losses you see most people posting about because they started so much higher tan you. Not just that but your body naturally stalls, adjusts then starts losing again. That is part of the process.

I am in the same situation as you, I was really losing until I was able to start puréed food. I feel horrible when I eat because I'm so scared to gain more weight.

Question: Did you have your surgery in the US? Or Mexico? It matters!!

Can I ask why you say it matters? What is the difference do you think?

Sounds like the 3 week stall. Happens to everyone when you start to introduce food. Your body goes into survival mode cause it's preparing for rough times. You should start dropping weight soon enough. You got this. Just work on your Protein and Water. When the scale isn't moving take your measurements. Take pictures so you can compare. It helps alot.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
