Surgery was postponed

Recommended Posts

I got a call this afternoon that there was a death in my doctors family. And my surgery was supposed to be Monday, 27 February. And now it is scheduled for Thursday 2 March. I will have been on the liquid diet for 16 days. Does anybody know if I go below 35 BMI will I still be able to go through with the surgery. I'm only 8 lbs from 35 BMI. If the surgery was on Monday I'd be fine....but Friday? I dunno

I don't think they would stop surgery if your BMI dropped. I think whatever they submitted to insurance will be what they go by. Don't sweat it!!

It does, hang in there cache, you can do this! I'm sure you are but figured I'd ask...Are you walking? That made a huge difference for me. The more I did, the better I felt.

I was just questioning the same thing. I am in my week pre-op diet and my BMI is right at 35. I do have a bunch of co-morbidities that qualified me, I was just hoping they don't weigh me again before surgery which is Wednesday.

I have been walking. I feel a lot better since I had a shower and got cleaned up. Every time I was going to the bathroom to pee I'd feel like I was going to throw up. Thanks for your insight

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
