You should get in touch with your nutritionist. Maybe they can help you through this in a healthy way. You've done so much hard work. It's time to stop this gain and it's ok to ask for help

Stalling is normal in weightloss so is gaining before dropping. It is not indicative of where you end up. Don't restrict calories or you really will stall. Trust the procedure and the process and follow the plan and you will drop.
Here is my graph for some perspective. Notice how it does not look like a straight line? Lots of bump ups and plateues but it is clear what the overall trend is...

Search "three week stall." It happens to everyone. Just stick with your plan and the weight will come off in its own time.
This journey is a marathon, not a sprint!

I'm grossed out now on how much Pasta I used to eat. It now doesn't really agree with me, either, thank God, but bread and rice are hard to ignore. It's also kind of hard to take bread out of the equation for portable/easy food (casseroles in freezer, sandwiches on the run, etc.)

If I avoid carbs, I don't crave them. If I plan out my day a bit and am not flying by the seat of my pants, eating the right ratio of carbs/protein/fat/calories happens. This is a big lifestyle change in many ways for me. I even changed my kids' schedules and my work schedule to, basically, accommodate my new eating. I know that's not realistic for most, but if I'm going to take care of my health and lose the weight, I have to make a wholesale change.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is insanity, right? So . . . I'm trying to regain my sanity and change my bad habits to a good one.

If bread, Pasta, and rice are the collateral damage -- I'll take it. Doesn't mean I can never have them, but when I input the values into MFP, it drives home they are pretty much empty carbs and calories for me that I can't afford to spare. They trigger cravings, too, and one slice of bread becomes half a loaf with a stick of butter, a growing plate of stir fry with rice -- you get the idea.

    Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!

My husband is one of those metabolically blessed humans who can pretty much eat/drink whatever he pleases and stays within a 5 lb swing range with exercise. Being with me for 28 years has taught him that he's not disciplined as much as blessed...he's watched me struggle with yo-yo-ing up and down, trying diet after diet and watching it all come back regardless of what I do. As my college kids would say, the man is 'woke' and understands that what's a simple cup of rice for him is a food that will cause an action, a reaction and a full-blown fight for me with my genetics and metabolism. He's also an MD and I envy his patients...no simplistic 'calories in < calories out = weight loss' brush-offs from him. He GETS it

My apologies, it's hard to read tone in messages sometimes and I wasn't sure if you were talking about my NUT or me. Misunderstanding on my part.

My daughter in law is a dietitian and states the same thing all the time, "everything in moderation". (Btw she is about 5ft 2 and weighs less than one of my legs, never stops eating and bakes cakes every weekend grrrr). Im sure they learn that saying on the first day of University and recite it every day, as a pledge until they leave. If it were that easy the diet industry wouldn't bring in billions of pounds/dollars/insert currency here, would they?
Good carbs are essential, bad carbs are not worth bothering with.
Im resisting saying anything else, we are all entitled to our opinion and long term success depends on those choices.

Eating gobs of Pasta and bread is what got me fat.
At 3 years out with a mellowed out metabolism and larger sleeve capacity, if I ate Pasta and bread at on a regualr basis, I would get fat. Again.
Besides, it causes a spike in our insulin levels and therefore cravings. This is hard enough. Why do that to yourself?

I'm over 3 years out and have been at goal since 9 months out.

I know that I can have Pasta and bread, but have continued to avoid both completely. Carbs were always my biggest problem so I've decided to just avoid permanently.

My nut said the only carbs to have are the natural kind. I am 11 months out and have had one forkful of Pasta. I miss it. Maybe because I'm Italian and grew up with it. Idk. I have no idea who's correct. I just know that I would like a small portion with my Protein every so often. [emoji45]

I'm 6 1/2 weeks post op. I'm allowed Pasta though I haven't had any yet and toast. I have toast about twice a week. My nut said starches are important and everything in moderation. 2 weeks until I'm cleared for full diet.

Don't give in to the cravings. It takes a long time, but you will get over it. At 2+ years post op, I rarely even think about bread or Pasta anymore. You are better off without it.

Pasta s my chryptonite so im steering clear of it. I got rye pumpernickel bread n i can eat just 1 slice. Ive had it like every 3 or 4 days 4 bkfst. My body is slow at tolerating many foods so far so im very thankful for the things that dont make me sick. Good thing is im still on track with weightloss.

I was told no bread for now, and I'm 13 weeks post op. My nutritionist said I can have a piece of toast if I want to.
I know that personally, I stay away from toast and Pasta at this point in my weight loss journey, because of the fact that breads and Pasta are high in carbs. I want to make sure that I keep my carbs lower than 45 grams a day, or I can't lose weight.

Hi, feel your pain. Im dying for some penne ala vodka :-(.
Every doc follows a diff nutrition plan. I was allowed toast at phase 3 which i was moved to on my follow up at week 3 post op. I got sleeved, hernia repair and gall bladder removed. S/w ur doc n nut about getting a clear breakdown so u dont mess up your progress n healing process. FYI, i cheated n had a few french fries that made me wish some1 would shoot me n put me out of my misery. Learned quick fast to not jump the gun n follow my damn plan. Lord it was horrible. Good luck.
