I have BCBS Anthem, and I actually did my evaluation over the phone. It was through BariatricPsychEvaluations.com

You can check with your provider to see if they are within your network and what the coverage would be. If you do it over the phone or in person, I believe the questions are relatively the same.

Sleeved April 25th, since surgery lost about 19lbs. Beside getting smaller, I'm already sleeping better, and no hip pains. On the flip side, I'm cold all the time. Overall I'm enjoying the challenge & tranformation. [emoji16]

You should consume 64oz per day, but a minimum of 48oz. I approach this challenge by sipping all day and night. Now that may not work for everyone but it's easier than trying to remember to drink every 15mins or so. Even if I wake up in the middle of the night I sip before falling back to asleep. Remember at this stage liquid also includes any broth, sugar free Jello, popsicle, etc. My nurse at discharge, which had the surgery herself suggested this routine. I'm a week post op and im at an avg. Of 50oz a day. It's hard to reach 64oz everyday.

My family has a beach family gather every summer in Clearwater FL. I've already told them, Salmon and chicken Breasts for me please, nothing else. Stick with what's right for you. I've told everyone I've given up drinking because of health reason, which in a sense is partially true.

I was told using a straw increases the gas in your stomach. I don't use a straw.

You should also try making your own. I made some the other day with Essentia Water and Crystal Light Mango Passion fruit. So basically you get a high ph count liquid with zero carbs and sugar. It taste great. I do it just to keep the liquid diet interesting. With the popsicle mold you can make multiple flavors that suites you.

That sounds good, 2 shakes then a sensible dinner. I would start taking Multi Vitamins now if you aren't already. Also start practicing sipping and chewing slowly, that's will make a big difference afterwards.

You will be fine. I had my surgery on Tuesday. No issues, just getting enough fluids can be a challenge. There's nothing to be worried about. On my surgery date, there were 10 of us total. Yes 10. It's not a long procedure and we had 2 surgeons. One doing the sleeve and the other completed the hernia, if needed. In my group there were at least 4 people over 60 years of age, 3 females and one male. We all hung out on the hospital floor walking and talking about our experience. Hang in there, think about your new lifestyle after you successful surgery.

Try the nectar Protien powder. It's consider a clear liquid, but does provide a good amount of Protein. Comes in many flavors. I have the lemonade and it's not as thick as a regular protein shake, and you only need 8oz to get a good mixure.

    Stick with your surgeons plan
Its not just for dieting but more importantly your safety. I know how you feel. I'm only 3 days post op and I'm looking forward to some bake fish, oatmeal, etc. But I'm also embracing the challenge because I know what the great outcome will be.
