    Food Aversions

I can relate. Mine are unbelievable. I have a "routine" follow up appointment with the RD tomorrow morning . Hoping she will have some helpful ideas. I will share if she does.
  2. I am 3 days post op and cannot keep anything down. Did great in the hospital but came home and have been puking. I spoke with the hospital today and they said to make sure that I am taking the anti nausea meds. Will this get better, when. I am scared. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Tomorrow is my new beginning...

Hi all. My surgery went well. I've been sleeping what seems to be a ton. Probably my body's way of telling me I need it, lol. I was up walking as soon as they would let me. Pain has been manageable, with meds. One of my incision sites started to leak so they cleaned that up. Grateful for the advice on theses forums, the gasx melt always have been very helpful. Love having my own pillow, Jammie's. I have had a Protein shake last night & this morning. Some yogurt last night. I am going home in a little while. I have to have oxygen because my levels are dropping at night. They said this happens Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  6. Hi All. I am getting bypass tomorrow. I am a mixed bag of emotions today. Took the day off from work, mainly because I cannot concentrate on anything but my surgery. Also thought it would be a good idea to flit around my house getting loose ends wrapped up. I am excited to start on my journey to a healthier, more weight, body confident me! Wishing you all success and support on your journey. HB Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Introducing myself...

Are you able to change to a different surgeon in the group? Personally I want to be comfortable with my surgeon, both with their skill level and with my ability to talk to them about any concerns etc. that I have. This is someone who is going to be part of my support-team not just before/during surgery, but afterwards as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, wisdom. I am not able to change. I am going to make sure that I advocate for myself, throughout. If there is an issue with him, then I am going to have to speak up. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  10. I have been given my RNY surgery date, it's 1/11/17. I had my pre-op appointment this week. EKG, General physical, health history review, medication review, blood work. So I am getting more anxious the closer I get. I am excited to gain control over my weight loss, weight and live a more healthy, active lifestyle. I have a supportive, loving husband who is my biggest "cheerleader." I have shared my decision with my mom and sister as well. I did a ton of reading, research and decided the center based on many factors, including reputation of their program, surgeons, medical team, outcomes, successes, etc. So why would I be anxious? I had one of the surgeons in the group remove my appendix several years ago and he was great, start to finish. I did not choose him, I decided to choose the "lead" surgeon in the group. His credentials are solid, stellar actually. When I had my 1on1 appointment with him he was not very personable. Almost anti social. So it caught me off guard and I became flustered, and therefore I didn't ask many questions at all. So I have been trying to focus on the positives, like He gets consistent high ratings, reviews for his surgical procedures, is renowned in the Bariatric field, etc. Hopefully his bedside manor will be decent.
